This restored 1500s villa is part of the first hospital built in America and is a designated UNESCO Heritage Site. Important Note: FIXIE is a private villa, not a hotel. It offers non-serviced suites with self check-in; there's no reception, dedicated staff, or restaurant on-site. The style is rustic and industrial, with earthy walls and minimal amenities (no TV). Guest access FIXIE LOFTS offers larger space both indoors and outdoors, than most hotels in the area. The pool (shared), courtyard & gardens make a difference. Our vintage BIKES are perfect to explore the historic area. Happy to share our tips and GUIDES. No need to drive car here (public parking). Other things to note 1. This loft faces the street. If you want one facing the patio (slightly higher rate), let us know prior check in, we might be able to change you. 2. The common area lamps turn off at 10PM. This light might disturb some through the ceiling window, but is is off during silent hours. 3. Walls: this is a heritage protected building, and walls are lime plastered. Lime makes a breathable and anti fungal environment (unlike cement). It has natural antibacterial properties. On some areas, lime paint might show "stains" peel off the wall. This is a natural process (will allow moisture to easily pass through) to gain dry, cool and well ventilated rooms. 4. Our sustainable approach ask guests to moderate electricity consumption. Lofts feel cool most of time, due to building isolation benefits. Ceiling fan is provided as well. Please turn off all electrical equipment when leaving the loft.
