Chalet "Il Pruno del Rosa"

The Plum Tree Chalet is an upscale Alpine retreat, with unobstructed views over the peaks surrounding Monte Rosa. Located in the charming neighbourhood of Motta over pristine meadows, the chalet is only reachable on foot (two minutes trail from car park), thus providing peace and true contact with nature. Open from Easter until late Autumn, this is a gem for trekkers, mountain bikers and nature lovers. The Chalet donates € 10 for each stay to AMVA, a local NGO supporting sustainable projects. The space The property is on three floors. The living area is on the first floor and consists of a fully furnished kitchen, a large open space living/dining room and a toilet with laundry. The second floor hosts a studio/TV room with an open fire place, as well as two bedrooms with dedicated bathrooms (one with a traditional tub, the other with a large walk in shower). The ground floor hosts the third bedroom with its own bathroom equipped with a walk in shower. Two bedrooms feature a king bed, the other a queen + a single bed. Note that the bedroom on the ground floor has both an external garden access and an internal access through the stairs. The internal access cannot be locked with a door. Other guests do not have direct sight of the bedroom but you need to be aware that this room cannot provide total privacy. Guest access The property is an Alpine retread, located in nature and can only be reached on foot via a short trail (2 minutes): ideal for hikers, mountain bikers, nature lovers. From Spring until late Autumn vehicles can be parked 250m away from the chalet in a dedicated parking lot that can be reached by driving over a private unpaved road (c. 3 minutes drive, suitable for all vehicles) from the nearby village of Macugnaga Isella (SS549). Once at the property you will truly feel immersed in nature, yet the main resort of Macugnaga will be just 10 minutes away by car or an enjoyable 30 minutes walk in the beautiful woods. We recommend travelling with easy to carry shoulder bags or backpacks, sneakers or hiking shoes: high heels and trolleys not ideal. Not recommended for very young children and people who may have difficulty to walk on mountain trails. Other things to note Chalet "Il Pruno del Rosa" is an ideal destination for those who wish to be tucked away from the crowds and feel immerse in nature. It takes a little effort to get to the chalet (can park nearby but need to walk a couple of minutes along a trail to get from the car to the house) but once you have arrived, you can relax in a recently refurbished cosy, luxury home with magnificent views a beautiful terraced garden and all comforts and amenities of a charming retreat. Think of this property as your private luxury Alpine retreat, from where you can easily access hikes, mountain biking tracks or simply enjoy the day on the sundeck and stroll down to the resort of Macugnaga for some shopping, a few drinks or a traditional meal. If tranquillity and close contact with nature is what you are looking for this is the perfect spot, worth the small effort to get there.
