Mildred's Lane: The Sleeping Porch

Mildred’s Lane is an art project site and home, deep in the woods with open fields situated on 95 acres surrounded by views, meadows, ponds, and streams; perfect for group retreats or a romantic weekend getaway out of the city. The Main House has rooms with several rustic cabins and outbuildings on the property, only 1.5 miles from historic Narrowsburg, NY, on the Delaware River; enjoy water sporting, exploring galleries, fine restaurants, art and antiques and the famous One Grand Books store. The space Fall and Winter months, guests are welcome to enjoy hiking, canoeing, kayaking, sledding, skiing in the area, or curl up by a wood burning fire in the Main House library. Our library, which has been featured for its design in several interior design collections, is very dense with hundreds of books on art, philosophy, theory, architecture, field guides, science, and natural history. Spring and Summer are a time of exploration for us. Over the past twenty years, we have opened our home to creative practitioners from around the world. From early June through August, contemporary artists, writers and naturalists convene here for retreat and project collaboration. We host lectures, workshops, tours, and exhibitions. Our Airbnb guests are welcome to swan in on the experience, enjoying the day’s projects and the evening’s programming. For the adventurer, there is hiking, fishing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and river rafting in the area. Mildred’s Lane is a very special place. For the artist or sojourner, young couple or family, we are so happy to welcome you to our home and community. Guest access The site is scattered with dozens of ongoing art projects about living in this historic landscape. The interiors are aesthetic and conceptual tableaus as well as comfortable spaces to lounge in. There are tours of the artists' projects on-site available seasonally by request. Also, the Mildred’s Lane kitchen laboratory is available for your food adventures. During your stay A host is available on site to assist when needed, give tours, and other such friendliness. The library with roaring fireplace is a cozy space to read, watch movies, listen to music, etc.
