Perched on top of a hill, George's House is stylish Cornish retreat on the breathtaking Roseland Peninsula. Just a 5-minute stroll downhill and you'll be in the heart of Portscatho - where art galleries, irresistible Scatho ice cream, Cornish pasties and the cozy Plume of Feathers pub await. Not to mention the beautiful beach. Explore Roseland's beaches, hidden coves and truly delicious food from the Hidden Hut and The Standard pub. Bookings - 3 days minimum off peak & weekly at peak times. The space Entrance Hall: A simple space with coat hanging but hopefully a sign of what’s to come in the rest of the house! In the entrance hall you’ll find one of two shopping bags, we hope these will help you with a sustainable shop but we ask that these be returned prior to leaving. The Snug: A cosy little home from home, complete with smart TV, three-seater sofa and a small antique chair. There is a log burner which is used at your own risk and we would recommend only using if you are used to using one at home. If you are planning to use the log burner, let us know and we will make sure the fire is set ready for your arrival. If you aren’t quite ready to embrace the burner, you’ll find an extra blanket in the snug in case you want a snuggly night without the upkeep. If you are traveling with tiny ones, you’ll find toys and story books in the trunk in the Snug, if you yourself need entertaining grab a book off the shelf! Heating is by a storage heater so turn it on when you arrive. Dining Room: There is a locked cupboard under the stairs, don’t worry its our cleaning cupboard so you aren’t missing out but in the other cupboard on the opposite side of the room you’ll find some puzzles, games and children’s crafts – we’ve also popped a wipe clean tablecloth to make life easier if you’ve got minis, great for crafting and dinner time! Please note there are heaters in the dining room and the lounge, these both have switches to the left of them. They will need to be switched on overnight to heat the house the following day. Kitchen: Welcome to our kitchen, she may be small but we have tried our best to ensure you’ve got everything you will need whatever your culinary ambitions. We’ve popped basics in the kitchen to start you off and there are cleaning bits in the cupboard under the sink so if you need anything we hope you will find it there, We’ve also stashed the iron there although we don’t recommend ironing when on holiday! Hidden away behind one of the doors is the dishwasher. It's nice and simple to use if you press the rest button inside the door and add a tablet it’ll start automatically when you close the door. The Hidden Hut Cook Book also has pride of place on our kitchen shelf so make sure you get the chance to cook one of their dishes, you are just by Porthcurnick Beach after all. The kitchen has its own wall heater. Bathroom: The bathroom offers the choice of bath or power shower. Towels are supplied (inside use only, please bring beach towels) and you can turn on the heated towel rail by pulling the cord by the door in the bathroom, You’ll also find underfloor heating, this should come on automatically, but there is a panel outside the bathroom door to control it. Inside-Outside Room: Please note this room is not watertight. It is perfect for beach storage, so ideal for your body boards and wetsuits but please don’t use this room for anything that needs to stay dry. You'll also find an ironing board and mop and bucket in the large cupboard along with beach toys and there's a washing machine, small fridge freezer and vacuum cleaner. If you use the washing machine, there is an airer. We’ve also made a blackboard for any little ones (or larger fun loving ones) to draw on. You’ll find a BBQ just outside this room which you're free to use. (Please clean and empty it for the next guests if you do.). There’s also a small table and four outside chairs that need to be folded up and brought inside if there’s a lot of rain please. Bedrooms: Very little to fill you in on here.. when relaxing is key, that’s all you need to focus on, but in case you are wondering, you’ll find a hairdryer in the top drawer in the master bedroom. The hot water tank is also in the cupboard in the main bedroom, but should already be on to provide you with all the hot water that you'll need. Both bedrooms have heaters if it gets chilly overnight and chest of drawers and coat hook hanging for clothes. Guest access You are renting the entire space at George's House on the Hill, use of our little garden and you also you your own private entry into the garden of The Standard pub next door. Other things to note Well behaved dogs are welcome to stay at George's but please keep them off sofas and downstairs. Also if you're leaving them home while you pop out please leave them in the "Inside Outside room as our carpets are Sisal and easily spoilt. Please take care not to spill any water or anything else on the Sisal as is hard to dry out. Also please do not put any cleaning products on it.
