The Pine Loft, Shillington

Modern self-contained studio apartment, complete with kitchen, en-suite and living space. Located at the start of the Chilterns area of outstanding natural beauty, offering great hiking and outdoor activities. Near the historic town of Hitchin, full of independent cafes, restaurants, shops and entertainment venues. The Pine Loft is on the side of our 19th century home in Shillington (a rural village boasting two walkable gastropubs) fully sealed off from the house once you are inside. The space Once behind the Pine Loft door, the downstairs kitchen contains everything you might need for a short stay. Hob, combi oven/microwave, fridge/freezer and a breakfast bar facing the front driveway. After heading upstairs, you'll find lovely views over the garden and fields front and back. The light & airy upstairs living area has a comfortable sofabed and dining area, with the en-suite shower/wc & double bed set back. The property benefits from the solar panels on the main house providing green energy, and access to EV charging on request. Guest access The Pine Loft is accessed via the back door through our utility room, once inside you can lock yourself in to the self-contained two-floor studio. Just for awareness, we may cross paths in the utility area as you enter/exit, but otherwise our main part of the house is sealed off and the space is completely private. There are guest coat hooks and a shoe rack for your use outside the internal Pine Loft door. Other things to note There is a picnic bench off the second driveway which you’re welcome to use (if not occupied by us!). There is also an outdoor table and chairs tucked down the side of the Pine Loft for your use. There are regular local events including a fortnightly classic car gathering at The Musgrave Arms from spring-autumn. The Crown pub is about a 10 minute walk, while The Musgrave Arms is about a 30 minute walk (both have a fully paved route or more interesting walking route options). There is a village shop & post office, with neighbouring villages/towns offering even more choice. Discolicious is a great farm shop and cafe located on the road to Lower Gravenhurst.
