This self-contained annexe is separate from our family home and was recently refurbished to be your perfect secluded rural retreat. Tucked away on a quiet, no-through road surrounded by trees and farmland, you’ll be instantly charmed by the stunning woodland views and peaceful setting. Relax. Reconnect. And Roam. The magic starts the moment you arrive! Step outside to your private courtyard to enjoy the quiet sounds of the local tawny owls and wildlife. At night, with no city lights, you can enjoy some truly spectacular stargazing. Ready to explore? You can start your Wye Valley walks or cycling adventures immediately, as public footpaths lead directly from your doorstep. We’re also perfectly positioned for days out: Hay-on-Wye: The famous "Town of Books" is a quick 12-minute drive away. Hereford City: Explore the magnificent Cathedral and Mappa Mundi, just a 25-minute drive. Brecon Beacons: Start your serious hiking and adventure in the National Park, with the edge of the park accessible in under a 30-minute drive. Home-from-home: We’ve set up the annexe with everything you need for a comfortable, cosy and stress-free stay. Kitchen & dining: A well-equipped kitchen (oven, hob, fridge, sink) for easy self-catering. With a dedicated dining area for four. Sleeping: A spacious bedroom with a lovely double bed. a very comfy sofa for two children or one adult, and a recently added chair bed in the bedroom for one more. Lounge: We've added some blankets, games and puzzles. Even some soft lighting to cosy up and read. Take a book from our selection of 'help yourself books'. Parking & access: We offer the convenience of private drive parking (enough for more than one car!) and your own separate entrance. You’re just a 5-minute walk from the heart of Winforton village, don't forget to visit the fantastic local farm vending machine for fresh milk, eggs, and meats—it's a real treat and a proper Herefordshire experience! A few notes: Digital balance: We don't have a TV here, but we find most guests prefer the quiet! Maybe time to unwind and recharge. Fast Wi-Fi: If you do need to stream, we provide super fast Wi-Fi so you can easily use your own laptops or tablets in the comfortable lounge area. Family friendly: Bringing the kids? We happily accommodate two children (or one adult) on our large, very comfortable sofa. And we have recently added a chair bed in the bedroom for one more! Goosepool Annexe is an ideal spot for couples, solo travellers, and small families seeking peace, nature, and easy access to the stunning Black Mountains and Wye Valley. We can't wait to host you! Guest access The annexe is detached, with it's own private entrance and has its own fenced courtyard for privacy. Other things to note The village has no public transport, so you need your own car. Just so you know, we do not have a TV, but there is super-fast Wifi for your own laptops, tablets, etc.
