Centrally located one block off Portage Lake in the quiet village of Chassell, MI. Close to Portage Lake boat launch and public beachfront park. Michigan Tech and neighboring towns of Houghton/Hancock are a short 7-minute drive via U.S. 41. This is the perfect jumping off point to begin your adventures on the Keweenaw Peninsula. The space This historic home has been fully renovated, but still maintains the charm of the early-day homes of the Copper Country. Two-story, with family room, living room, kitchen, full-bath and laundry room on main level. Two bedrooms and a full-bath located on the second floor. PLEASE NOTE: There are steep stairs leading to the 2nd floor, with a safety gate at the top. Entry to the home also has two-steps to the front door. The two bedrooms, located on the 2nd floor, have one queen bed and one full-size bed. Main floor living room has a futon couch (full-size), and a twin-size inflatable mattress is also available. Office desk in living room provides a monitor, as well as high-speed internet. Fully fenced backyard with large deck, gas BBQ, Solo smoke-free stove, and a wood-fired sauna. You will have the entire house to yourself, but please keep in mind that the owners live here part of each month. While there is a no pet policy, the owners do have two dogs, but the house is cleaned thoroughly between visits. Guest access Guests have the entire house. Front entrance has two steps to the porch. There is also a side entrance via a pathway from the garage/driveway, which also requires going up two-steps.
