Heaven's Cottage with stunning ocean vistas

The entire cottage has received a facelift, new paint colours all room, new livingroom furniture in 2022. Cottage is a three bedroom bungalow offering ocean frontage. Featuring stunning ocean vistas, an amazing near-by sandy beach and spectacular sunsets. A favourite past time for most of our quests is collecting sea glass. Guests love time on the porch to enjoy the ocean view. No pets allowed. The space Heaven’s Cottage is the perfect place to leave your worries behind…to relax and enjoy nature’s wonders. The amazing sandy beach features the warmest salt water north of the Carolinas, the perfect sand for even the grandest castles and sculptures, and it offers the perfect venue for sport and recreation. But the fun doesn’t stop when the sun goes down. Experience the sight of hundreds of fireflies (when in season) as they light their way through the forest…or millions of stars that unite to form the Milky Way as you roast marshmallows over a softly crackling bonfire and are soothed by the soft lapping of the ocean against the shore. The ocean is less then 90 feet from the deck. There are four chairs by the ocean, one rocker on the deck, two side tables on the deck, two person love-seat on the deck, two wooden chairs on the deck. All bed linens and towels are provided, kitchen has lots of cooking utensils, plates, pots, dishes and there is a propane BBQ but you need to bring any food/cooking items you require. There is a screened room with a table for 4 and lounge set for 4. This way you can enjoy the evening without worrying about bugs. I provide salt, pepper, mustard, and ketchup. Dish-washing soap, hand soap, toilet paper and paper towels are provided. The interior has an authentic nautical cottage feel perfect for its ocean setting. There is no dishwasher or laundry machines. There is a small shower stall but no tub. The water pressure is lowered as we need to conserve water usage. The entire ballroom is small and is not wheelchair accessible. There is NO air conditioning. Fans are available in every room. The water is naturally hard and is safe but I recommend that you use the water cooler for drinking and cooking (the water for the cooler is provided). Please be conscience of water usage (as we are on a well) for purposes of conservation. Wifi is provided but is not guaranteed. The wifi is country high speed so streaming is minimal but is stable. There are 4 cottages in the area including mine which is the log cabin next door . There is a privacy fence between the rental and my cousin's cottage to the west. The other cottages are members of my extended family and no other renters so it is a very quiet area. When looking out the large picture window or seating on the large covered deck you can’t see the other properties… you are going too the ocean, seaside wildlife and hopefully spectacular sunrise or sunset. The cottage is located directly on the water (90 feet to the ocean bank) so you feel like you are right on top of the water. The beach directly in front of the cottage (differs every year) is rocky/pebbles but is great for building a fire pit to roast marshmallows and when the tide is out there is a sand bar (like the pictures). I also want to let you know the access to the beach is a short (about 5 minute maybe up to 200 metres) walk from your front patio door and you have to go down a slight incline and descend about 20 steps and then a short stroll along the shore to the sandiest portion of the beach. Please note that the stairs to the beach are only available from the May long weekend to Canadian Thansgiving in October. Access to the beach is not recommended for persons will any mobility issues. The sandy beach goes on for more than a kilometre. When the tide is out it is great for building sand castles and often very shallow pools of water collect which are great for young children to play in. The water temperature ranges from 18C to 22C depending on the summer weather. If you arrive in June, early July, mid-September or after it will be cooler. There is no natural rip tide or surf. There may be waves if it windy. Come for a swim! Things to do…..whether you like to golf, (6 courses less then an hour away) dine out, hike, visit museums or craft shops, you will find something of interest on Nova Scotia’s scenic North Shore. A five minute drive away is the home of Jost Wines where you can browse their spacious retail outlet, go on a tour, and pick up a bottle (or two) of their award winning wines. They have festivals numerous times a year featuring local musicians, check their event calendar for details. A fifteen minute drive away eastward along the Sunrise Trail will take you to the village of Tatamagouche where you will find a variety of services such as a grocery store, craft beer, liquor store, pharmacy, galleries, restaurants, and access to the Trans Canada Trail system.
