In Hewood, a charming, secluded village nestled in the heart of Dorset's countryside. Known for its picturesque thatched cottages and stunning rural surroundings, it offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life, but with all the modern comforts you need. The space Our cosy cottage has everything to help you feel comfortable. Oil central heating. Living room with smart TV, DVD and games. Dining room with seating for six. The stairs go directly from the living room to the main bedroom. Main bedroom with king size bed, feather pillows, feather duvet and memory foam pocket sprung mattress. Hair dryer provided. Small en suite toilet. Second bedroom with single bed (door off the main bedroom) and peaceful work station. Third bedroom with two single beds (door off the main bedroom - note the very low door height (4ft) and 2 steps down into bedroom 2. This room is only suitable for children under 12 and we ask that the door be left ajar at all times as part of our fire risk assessment) Sitting room with electric 'woodburner effect' heater. Kitchen with double oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer. Bathroom with bath, shower over bath, laundry cupboard equipped with washing machine, tumble drier, ironing board and iron. Wooden conservatory / garden room with two 2 seater sofas plus rocking chair. Front garden with sun terrace for two, kids swing. Back garden with patio set for 4. Fibre Wi-Fi with 300Mbps speeds. Please note that this house is not suitable for groups of adults due to it's quirky lay out. We respectfully don't accept bookings of parties of more than 3 adults. We also request a minimum of 48 hours notice for bookings to ensure we can have the property ready for you - if you need a booking with less notice than this, please do get in touch, and we will do our best to accommodate you if possible. Other things to note Parking is on the green near the house (25 metres away). We load / unload the car at the house, then park up on the green. Please don't park outside the house - note that the surface is uneven. Unfortunately our insurance will not allow the use of the wood burning stove which must not be used, or candles or any other naked flame. The cottage is strictly no smoking. The cottage has retained lots of its original 18th century features including some low ceilings and door frames. There are 4 steps down to the kitchen and 2 into third bedroom. The stairs rise directly into main bedroom without a door. Bedroom 3 is a twin room with a very small doorway directly off the main double room - the door is a little over 4ft tall. This room is only suitable for children under the age of 12 and we ask that the door be kept ajar at all times as part of our fire risk assessment. The house has original flagstone floor (we have furnished with rugs to keep your toes warm but slippers are perhaps a good idea on the colder months) Hewood is beautifully remote, but this means that there is some single lane roads with passing places to get here! There is a swing set which you are welcome to use but please note it is entirely at your own risk. There is a small basic first aid kit and tool kit in the bottom drawer of the bedside drawers in the main bedroom. Please let me know if you use anything from it so that I know to replace it.
