Home in New Portland

Gnar-Lee River Retreat, named for our puppies, offers a place to get away and enjoy the outdoors. Reconnect with friends and family all while staying connected with FiberOptic internet. We are thirty minutes away from world class skiing (Sugarloaf and Saddleback) and countless lakes and streams for kayaking and fly fishing in the warm months. Our family came here on vacation and knew we needed to stay closer so while we are working we hope you will come play and enjoy all Maine has to offer. The space The home sits on a property with a beautiful stream. You will be a snow mobile trail and trout streams are right outside the door. The Carrabassett River is a short walk with fly fishing and a newly preserved nature area. So much outdoor beauty is either right in the back yard or a short drive away. Guest access The full house and property are at your disposal. There is protected open space near by but the large yard is a great place for kids and puppies to explore and run around. Snow Mobile trails run RIGHT IN FRONT of the property. Lemon stream leads the Carrabassett River and runs to the side of the property. The home is off any main road but only a few turns from a major road. There is an arcade machine in the home for Apres or just for play along with AirHockey and small foosball table. The kitchen has all the amenities for preparing meals if you choose to cook in and there are several family friendly restaurants within 10 minutes of the house. You will feel at home here. Other things to note Our dogs are family. Full stop. We only ask that you treat this house as our home. Your pets are welcome guests. We ask only you clean up after them as you would with any other animal…two legged or four legged. Let us know if you need anything for your pup. We have extra food, a crate, and other sundries around the house which may be out of site. This goes for the two legged family members also. We have small kids and keep some essentials in the house in the events they are needed.
