The space Welcome to Your Home Away from Home! Think of it as your own peaceful hideaway, where comfort meets a sprinkle of KZN warmth! A Few Friendly Reminders While we’re not a hotel, we strive to create a warm, secure, and tranquil environment for all our travelers. Here are some friendly details to help make your stay enjoyable: House Rules (the kind that keep the peace) • Registration: Please ensure all guests are registered on the app. This helps us keep track and ensure everyone is cozy and comfortable (Maximum of 2 guests allowed.) • Visitors: Our little sanctuary is just for you—no visitors allowed on the property, as we’re not covered for extra guests. Being a family home, we also have no way to verify who is on the property, and security is a priority. • Noise Levels: We love a good laugh and chatter, but let’s keep it to a respectful decibel. Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 7 AM—our neighbors will thank you! • Gardener Alert: We have a friendly gardener named Joseph who tends to our lovely garden twice a week. Don’t be alarmed if you see him around; he’s just ensuring our green space remains beautiful! He may use the bathroom build behind the cottage (own entrance). Joseph is aware we have guests on the property and tries to keep movement and noise to a minimum. A Bit About Your Stay • Long Stay Comforts: If you’re here for an extended stay. We’ve included some detergents to get you started. • Extra Clean: If you’d like an extra clean during your stay, we offer a room clean at an additional cost. This includes fresh bedding, a restock of essentials (toilet paper, milk, tea, coffee, and towels), and a sparkling clean of surfaces (this takes 4 hours). We do not do personal laundry, unfortunately. • We do provide spare bedding at no charge which is in the cupboards, but if you need a helping hand (or you just want to spoil yourself and let someone clean for you), we can activate your room clean and charge it to your profile for you to approve. Please give us grace if we cannot clean the day you request, as we may need 24 hours' notice. • Cleaning Supplies: We’ve stocked your space with handy cleaning tools like a mop, broom, pan/brush and a clean dish sponge (the mop and bucket are outside by the kitchen window). Dive into your cleaning adventures as you see fit! We also provide Sunlight/Handy Andy and a small amount of washing powder for a load, if laundry catches up to you before you get to the shops. If you have unique cleaning rituals that require different tools not provided, please feel free to check-in with us and we might be able to assist. Otherwise, we only provide the basics. Furry Friends & Family Vibes We have delightful dogs who are part of our family. They’re friendly and will likely be lounging around indoors or in the front garden, leaving you to enjoy your space. If you keep the pedestrian gate closed, you probably won’t see them at all. Oh, and our kids? They’re part of the family experience, too! They may be around, bringing life and laughter to our home, but they know not to disturb the guests. Local Delights You’re in for a treat! Our neighborhood boasts an array of incredible restaurants and shops all within walking distance (200-500m). From Woolworths and Checkers to Dischem and local favorites for breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between, you’ll find something to satisfy every craving. We’re also just 1km as the crow flies to Beachwood Golf course and Beachwood Beach—if you enjoy golf, we recommend giving them a call! Parking Information We have one secure parking spot in our gated area just for you. If you have a second vehicle, you’ll need to park it on the verge outside. Not to worry! There’s a 24-hour security hut just 20 meters away, keeping everything safe and sound. A Note on Our Guest Suite We have a guest suite with a private entrance on the property that is also an Airbnb. If you see some movement in the lower garden, that’s likely our other guests. We’ve reserved separate parking for them, but if it’s available, we’re happy to accommodate you with a second parking space (registered guests only) with prior permission. Warmly, Glyn and Natalie Your Hosts 🏡✨ Guest access We have a combination lock road facing that must be opened (code sent on day of arrival) to access your gate remote and cottage key. One parking available in gated driveway. Prior arrangements need to be made for additional parking (please request) There is a passenger gate that you will enter off the drive way. Follow a lit up pathway and go up the small staircase ( 6 steps ) onto the upper garden area. The cottage is behind the wooden privacy screens. Other things to note Please note it is a residential area and a family home. We have dogs, a gardener and domestic worker on site. No late/ excessive loud music allowed. No visitors on the property - the cottage is 200m from local pubs and restaurants which can accommodate guests needs. All guests staying must be registered prior to check-in. No Smoking inside the cottage - there is a large patio and garden available for those wishing to smoke outside. Troops of Monkeys do pass through neighbourhood so ensure windows are closed when out.
