Alambil: Elegant Blackheath Cottage Blue Mountains

Alambil Cottage is an original two bedroom timber Mountains cottage, lovingly renovated, featuring a classic flower garden complete with a fountain and lots of local birdlife. It is an easy 1 km walk from the train station/centre of town but is located in a whisper quiet cul-de-sac, close to the World Heritage Area and bushwalks. The cottage includes everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable mountain retreat, including central heating, a wood burning stove, aircon & a clawfoot bath. The space The cottage has high ceilings, timber floors, and woollen rugs, and has been designed to let in the sunshine and provide views of the established flower filled garden. Because of its secluded position in a quiet cul-de-sac, wildlife (even kangaroos!) is often seen on the footpath. The cottage is only a short 1km stroll to Blackheath village centre, cafes, coffee shops, restaurants, local markets and train station, and a 15 minute drive to Katoomba. You can also walk to the start of some of the best bushwalking tracks in the Blue Mountains. We are also very close to the Campbell Rhododendron Gardens which is a beautiful spot for a morning or evening stroll. You'll find the gardens particularly spectacular during Autumn, and in October and November during the Rhodo Festival. Inside the cottage, soft colours and fabrics are complemented by original works by local artists. We have everything sorted to manage all weather conditions. The cottage has gas central heating and a combustion stove (wood provided in winter) to keep you cosy and warm. The living area and the back bedroom are also cooled/heated by an electric split system air conditioner. Finally, there are also portable air purifiers/fans available. Configuration: Bedroom #1 - Queen sized bed Bedroom #2 - Queen sized bed Bathroom #1 - Clawfoot bath, separate shower, basin The two beds are brand new, and bamboo sheets, goosedown quilts, electric blankets and Egyptian cotton towels are provided. One bedroom includes a mini library with scores of books and DVDs, including a local bushwalking guide. You can select a book and snuggle up in bed or outside in the garden amongst the flowers and native birds. The main living area includes a large flatscreen TV with Netflix, and a chest of drawers full of board games. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook at home, including baking dishes, saucepans and some pantry staples like cooking oil, salt and pepper. The kitchen includes a gas stove and a small fridge. There is a full size fridge and freezer in the laundry. There is also a brand new Delonghi automatic coffee machine with grinder, milk frother and beans plus a huge selection of teas to choose from. There is also a gas BBQ and outdoor dining setting for enjoying outside dining during the twilight evenings. There is a separate desk, if you need to work, and free WiFi. There is a small studio and storage shed plus a metal garden shed in the back garden- these are not accessible as we use them for storage. Other things to note One box of complimentary firewood, fire-starters and matches are provided during the winter months only. Additional bags of firewood and kindling are available from the Blackheath IGA, Mitre 10 or any of the service stations along the highway.
