Vacation home in the heart of Småland

Forget your worries – in this spacious and peaceful place to stay. This beautiful holiday house with 115 m² of living space and a large garden is in an absolutely quiet location, at the end of a dead end road and in an idyllic location on the outskirts of the village, right on the edge of the forest of Fågelfors. There is enough space here to unwind or for children to let off steam. The house is situated in the heart of Småland and within easy reach of the Baltic Sea, an ideal starting point for numerous beautiful excursions. The space We lovingly renovated the house in 2024/2025 and use it privately for our vacations. Outside these times, we would like to offer it to our guests for relaxation. The two large bedrooms each have a double bed (180 x 200 cm). A third bedroom has a single bed. In the large living room area there is also a pull-out sofa with a comfortable lying surface (172 x 113 cm). All bedrooms and the living room have blinds for darkening. Duvet sizes: 4 x 155 x 220 cm, 2 x 135 x 200 cm. Please note: Linens and towels are not included in the price. The cleaning fee of 80 euros or alternatively 800 SEK will be deposited in cash by the guests. The large and bright kitchen invites you to cook together in a cozy atmosphere. It is equipped with everything you need. Spices such as salt, pepper, vinegar and oil are also available. Next to the kitchen is a cozy dining area. The house has a covered patio behind the house and a second (uncovered) patio on the front side. So there are always plenty of opportunities to find sun or shade, depending on your preference. In the outbuilding, there is a small room with various additional garden furniture at your disposal. There is also a large living room area at your disposal, which is divided by an open shelf. A large table, two sofas, a cozy armchair, rocking chairs, an Internet-enabled TV with satellite TV (Swedish channels), a small stereo system, games, DVDs and books for young and old invite you to linger. In the living room, there is also a new air-to-air heat pump, which quickly provides heat in the transitional period or on cool evenings - or can also be used as an air conditioning system on hot days. For the cold season, there is also central heating with radiators in all rooms. There is enough space for two cars in the large parking lot in front of the house. If necessary, two bicycles (Bio Bikes, 3 or 5 gears, see photo) can be rented for a small fee (10 euros per bike per week), which you could use, for example, to comfortably cycle to the swimming lake. Local shopping: In the village there is a nice little supermarket that is open every day. You can easily walk there in about 5 minutes. There are several lakes right around Fågelfors. The nearest swimming lake is the Övresjön. In addition to a sandy beach, a jetty and a non-swimmer area, it also offers changing rooms, a toilet and a barbecue area (free access). This lake is only 5 minutes away by car. The forests around Fågelfors invite you for relaxing walks. In summer/autumn, you can collect plenty of mushrooms, blueberries and cranberries there. A beautiful forest path starts near the house. The nearby Emån River offers beautiful nature and opportunities for canoeing or fishing (e.g., for salmon, sea trout...). With the tourist fishing permit, you can fish in 29 different bodies of water within the municipality of Högsby. Within about an hour's drive, you can reach many attractions: e.g. Vimmerby with the Astrid Lindgren Museum and Astrid Lindgren Värld, Bullerbü or Katthult Hof. The towns of Kalmar and Oskarshamn are located right on the Baltic Sea. The beautiful medieval city of Kalmar offers many attractions with its castle, museums and old town. From Kalmar, you can reach the island of Öland via a bridge (Borgholm castle ruins, Solliden Castle, Himmelsberga Museum...). From Oskarshamn there is a ferry, for example, to Gotland, Öland or the natural paradise Blå Jungfun Island.
