The main Catsle Street with its numerous restaurants, coffee/tea shops and boutique shops is just 250m walk from the door. Other things to note This is a cottage with a unique history. The original cottage dates from the early 1800s; however, on 13 March 1941, a WWII Spitfire, during a training exercise, ran into trouble; the pilot ejected and the plane crashed into, and destroyed the Cottage and much of the neighbouring shop. Thank goodness no-one was hurt!!! It was rebuilt in c.1950. We are often asked how we chose the name 'Crab Pier Cottage'. It was in homage of the iconic Beaumaris Pier, famous for families 'crabbing' over the side; our children always ask to go to the 'Crab Pier' and so the name picked itself from there! We also own The Nook, which is located across the road from Crab Pier Cottage making it ideal for groups or large families.
