The space Located in the Maple Avenue Historic District which contains a fine collection of 19th and early 20th century homes ranging from simple cottages to palatial mansions. The John Sydney House is located just a few blocks walk to Hannibal's thriving Main Street with shops, museums, restaurants and downtown waterfront. 3 bedrooms (each with a Queen size bed) are located upstairs. There is a sofa bed with a Queen size mattress in the Living Room. A full bath (clawfoot tub / shower combination) is located on the 2nd floor. There is a powder room (toilet and sink) on the first floor. 2nd floor washer & dryer. During its recent renovation lead by Architect Jim Smith, we preserved many of the home's original features and blended them with carefully curated antiques, rugs, artwork, as well as modern conveniences. The home is furnished with a view towards simplicity, harmony and the comforts of home. Relax on the Front Porch and private Back Deck. As a guest in this home, you have the opportunity to experience an authentic period home in a historic setting, and feel a connection to Hannibal's past, its place in time and local culture. On- Street Parking is usually plentiful directly in front of the house and in adjacent areas. Guest access The first and second floors are available for guest use with the exception of a locked housekeeping closet on the first floor. Guests are prohibited from basement access. Other things to note A full bath (clawfoot tub / shower combination) is located on the 2nd floor. There is a powder room (toilet and sink) on the first floor. People with physical limitations may find it difficult to enter. There is a pole in place to use as a hand hold for safety. NO EVENTS or disruptive behavior that disturbs the neighborhood.
