Description
Our beautifully renovated original farm cottage in the Eltham Valley, Byron Hinterland is your retreat home. From the ridge position of the home, you will see magnificent views of the Valley, the meandering Wilson River, and peaks of the Nightcap Ranges. You will wake to the beautiful sounds of birds in this tranquil setting, perfect for unwinding from the pressures of the normal routines. Milton Dale is an off-grid, regenerative working farm and you may see the cows grazing in the fields. The space This farm cottage has three bedrooms - two rooms have king sized beds and the third small bedroom has a single bed. The house is suitable for five guests however there is a sun room with a sofa bed which could be used as an additional bed if you wanted to accommodate another 1-2 people, however please note that this is not a bedroom and therefore doesn’t have its own seperate door. Farm Workers Milton Dale is a working farm. You may see Farmer Garry around the shed area or out in the paddocks, or Peter working on the grounds, or James with the cattle, or interested others visiting around the shed area. If you’re taking in the beautiful countryside while wandering out in the grounds, and see Garry or any of the others, please feel free to have a chat and find out more about Milton Dale and this magical part of the country. Water The house water is rain water which is harvested into the large red water tanks located next to the shed. Sometimes rain water is supplemented by ground water. All water to the house is filtered through a commercial grade filtration system and is perfectly safe for drinking. We ask that you be mindful of water use, and ensure that all taps are fully turned off when not in use. Power We aim to be as environmentally conscious as possible. Milton Dale uses off-grid power. The power supplied to the house is a solar/battery system and is limited to 21 kWh. We ask that you be mindful of power usage – turn off lights, fans, aircon/heater when not needed and whenever you leave the house, and turn off the aircon/heater when you go to bed. Dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer are best operated in daylight hours when the sun replenishes battery stores. Power is monitored remotely. Registration details Exempt
