If you go all the way up the steps there is a small market (Newberrys) with everything you need including beer and wine. Behind the market, there is a local brewery (Deciduous Brewing Company), an Italian restaurant/pizzeria, (Panzanella's) and a Japanese Restaurant (Kume Bistro). If you were to have gone up the steps halfway and followed the path you would see multiple other small locally owned restaurants, bars and shops. The downtown has plenty of restaurants to choose from: great Mexican (LaCatrina), Thai (Basil Leaf), and Chicken and wings (Wingitz). Riverworks is further down Main Street which is an old tavern-style restaurant. The Watershed is in the Mill closest to the house near the crosswalk on Main Street, it services locally sourced food and seafood. The Stone Church is a live music club just behind Main Street on church street. The Big Bean is great for breakfast, typically a bit of a wait. First come first serve. Crackskulls is a retro coffee shop that is worth the stop. There is also a great ice cream shop on Main Street called Sprinkled On Main. Lastly, head downtown before 2 pm and stop at Good Juju to buy some of the local artisan's work from soy candles and soaps, to pottery, textiles, and jewelry.
