Half-timbered & modern – family holidays in the Taunus

A charming, cozy farmhouse surrounded by nature, in an idyllic little village in the Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis. The half-timbered house itself is about 300 years old, angular/rustic but modern. It is great for larger family gatherings or groups of friends, JGAs. There are up to 16 sleeping accommodations as well as 2 bathrooms, a spacious kitchen, plenty of space to linger, parking, a balcony, a terrace and a large garden. !Super accessible even by public transport ! The space There are 3 large bedrooms in which there are two queen size beds, so 4 people can each be accommodated. Furthermore, there is another bedroom with balcony in which there is another queen-size bed for 2 people, as well as a pull-out couch in the living room, which also can accommodate 2 people. Please note that "up to" 16 people can be accommodated, but it always seems optimal in the face of the beholder or not. Other people, e.g. on your own folding mattresses, can be booked for a fee, please let us know. Babies are free. In the basement is the cozy dining, living room and kitchen area. There is seating for up to 16 people - a long table and sofas and some armchairs. In the center of the living area, a fireplace offers cozy warmth. The floors are real wood floors. There are two large screens that can be used to stream movies or watch media library on the internet via laptop (HDMI). In the living room you can also listen to music via a small sound system (jack cable or Bluetooth dongle). The highlight is the fully equipped, beautiful kitchen with warm water, dishes for about 16 people, toaster, coffee maker (filter coffee/small filter as well as espresso maker and grinder), kettle, blender, microwave and two large refrigerators (with freezer function). Furthermore, there is a dishwasher, as well as a washing machine with dryer function. On each floor there is a bathroom with toilet and shower. One duvet (155×220) and one pillow (80×80) are on site per person, only the bedding incl. Fitted bed (140×200) or a sleeping bag as well as towels must be brought with you. Alternatively, the bed linen can be booked in advance for 10,- EUR - and the towels for 5,- EUR pP. There is a grill that can be used. Bring charcoal! Garden: The large garden can be used, but is not part of the rental property. It has two beer benches, so when the weather is nice, you can eat outside under the apple building. A terrace with morning sun is accessible from the bedroom on the ground floor. Cozy fireplace evenings or barbecue in the evening sun in the evening sun with adjoining campfire and hammock does not stand in the way. Note for dog owners: In general, you can book your dog. Important: The dog must remain on the floor, you are welcome to bring your own accessories. Families: Crib, toys and high chair etc. available on request! Board and card games are also available. There is a sandbox outside. Outlets are largely secured, but there is no guarantee of child safety anywhere. Surroundings: Martenroth has about 70 inhabitants and is located exactly on the border between Hesse and Rhineland Palatinate. The surrounding area has everything you could want, lots of forest and nature for walks, bike rides and hikes (e.g. Wispertal, Rheinsteig, Nature Park Rhein Taunus), lakes and forest swimming pools, canoeing on the Lahn, historic villages (e.g. Rüdesheim or Idstein), castles on the Rhine, Limes ruins, country inns as well as a selection of nice restaurants and any shopping opportunities within a radius of about 6 km (in wet places). There are horses in the village and an amusement park about 20 minutes away. We are happy to give excursion tips! Directions and parking: Martenroth is very easily accessible from Wiesbaden/Mainz, Koblenz, Frankfurt, Cologne/Bonn, Mannheim or Darmstadt, etc. - by car or public transport. There is a bus stop right outside (bus lines 275 and X76 from Wiesbaden). Free parking for up to 5 cars is available on the property, other cars can be found on the side streets Zum Römerkastel. There is also a parking space for a camper behind the house. Sauna: On request we can book a mobile barrel sauna (for 6-8 people) for you (if available). This will then be delivered and placed for you in the yard. A weekend sauna (Friday-Sunday or Saturday to Monday) costs 300 euros, incl. Wood for 8 hours, 8 infusion flavors as well as the final cleaning and delivery costs. Guest access You will get into the house with our contactless check-in in the form of a key box. You will then receive the access data in advance via email. Other things to note A mobile barrel sauna (for 6-8 people) can be booked and will then be set up for you in the yard. Families with children are welcome! No street shoes in the house are allowed. Please bring slippers and change at the door. A shoe rack is available. If you want to run the fireplace, you can book firewood. If you want to grill, you have to bring the coal for this yourself. There is a waste separation system. It's all labeled, but we're also happy to help. If the garbage cans are full, further trash must be taken away and disposed of yourself. You can only smoke outside of the house. Candles are not allowed due to the risk of fire. Electric cars may not be charged with the house stream. Parking: Three cars can park directly in the yard, more vehicles can be parked behind the house in the graveled parking spaces in the Zum Römerkastel street.
