Description
A secluded oasis in the Red River Gorge with all of the modern amenities. Newly constructed in 2024, the Still House is located less than five minutes from the famous “Motherlode” climbing area, and 15 minutes from Natural Bridge State Park. You can enjoy easy access to area attractions while having total privacy to unwind to at home. Complete with a hot tub, outdoor shower, high speed internet, dedicated work space, numerous custom hand crafted details and much more. Memories await you here! The space We took pride in using numerous up-cycled materials in the construction of Still House. To pay homage to the areas rich history in oil production, old pipes were pulled from the woods and incorporated into the exterior railings, outdoor shower, and several of the table bases. White oak and walnut logs salvaged from a local tree service company were milled and crafted into the tables, staircase, King size bed, and floating shelves. Used bourbon barrel staves were built into the interior railings and towel hangers. Poplar wood was utilized for the ceilings and trim offering a different look to pine which is most commonly used. We are located in the southern region of the gorge about 10 minutes from the town of Beattyville where you can find a grocery store, liquor store, and other essentials. The Pendergrass Murray Recreation Preserve is less than five minutes away, here you can find a lifetime’s worth of rock climbing, the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway, and hiking to destinations such as Flat Hollow Arch (highly recommended albeit a little tricky to find). The rest of the area’s main attractions are anywhere from 10-30 minutes away. We are connected to high speed, reliable fiber internet service and have a dedicated desk/work space next to large windows. If you are a remote worker, reach out to us about booking a stay for five week nights and we will offer you a 20% discount. (Sunday-Friday bookings only, not available in October) There is excellent cell service at the cabin with nearly all of the major providers. Several of the neighbors have dogs that roam freely. They are friendly and don’t often visit the cabin but please be mindful of this when booking and please drive slowly on Spring Hollow Rd during your stay. Access to the cabin is on a well maintained gravel road for the last 1/3 of a mile concluded by a short and moderately steep driveway. Any vehicle other than maybe the lowest of clearance sports cars should have no issue getting to the cabin. There is parking at the top of the driveway in the event of a snow storm. The third floor loft has a twin mattress and is accessed by climbing up a ladder through a small hole in the floor. It is intended for children and nimble adults. There is a fan to assist in climate control but please be mindful that this room stays about 5-10 degrees warmer than the rest of the house. Water on tap is from the local municipality and is potable Well behaved pets are welcome. There is a $40 pet fee and extra charges may be incurred if excessive cleanup is required or damage occurs. Pets are required to be kept on leash when outside Also please bear in mind that while this is a modern home, our location in the middle of the woods still leaves it subject to all the creatures that one may encounter at a remote cabin. Insects, spiders, mice, and other unwelcome guests often make their way into the home despite measures taken to prevent them. Keeping doors closed during your stay will keep critters to a minimum but know this is a possibility and we do not offer any kind of refund/compensation should this happen. Guest access Entire Home
