Description
Although hidden away our site is within 20 minutes of Harrogate and Ilkley. There are numerous walking and cycling routes from the site. It is a quiet spot in an AONB with a dark skies rating. There are many fine pubs and restaurants in the immediate area. There is a hot shower and a composting toilet on site. There is a single parking spot where 2 bikes can be secured. Options include access to the sauna and hot tub + the VW camper when it is available. The space The wagon has a comfortable queen size double bed. For those over 6 feet tall space may be an issue! There is a box with continental breakfast etc underneath the bed. The details for using the shower and toilet are clear and easily available. The shelter has room for two for reading or games etc. Plates and cutlery etc are provided. There is a small wood burning stove with a kettle, and a larger fire pit with a cooking grill. Lighting materials and a bag or two of logs are provided. Extra wood is available at £5 a bag. Guest access The single parking space is hidden just outside our property with a door indicating it is the location for hidden gem. We will aim to meet and greet to ensure things go smoothly on arrival. Through the gate is a short walk for 50m through a tree arch to the site (or via a few stairs if preferred). The site is separate and entirely for visitors use. The sauna and hot tub are visible 70m down towards the reservoir from the site. Both look out over the reservoir. Not everyone wants to use these so they are charged separately. Both are off grid and wood fired taking 1-2 hours to heat. Especially through the summer months the hot tub is available for £25 per day. If it is very windy or wet the hot tub is quite exposed as the photos show, making it not safe to use. The sauna can usually be used if the weather is poor. That is also £25 a day including the wood required. Other things to note Apart from the size of the wagon and its bed, all users should be easily accommodated. Being off grid means a composting toilet etc which may not be for everyone. Mobile phone signal strength depends on the operator. We have no Wi-Fi on site. We have two labradors who are getting old and cause no trouble. At present we therefore don’t welcome other pets to our site, but are happy to discuss options.
