Le Grenier at Garos: Contemporary rural retreat

Recently renovated from a rustic hay loft into a modern light and airy space, this 2 bedroom apartment sleeps 4-6. With a focus on comfort, there is quality bed linen, cosy duvets, pillows and soft towels. Plentiful free parking, spacious dining area, fully fitted kitchen and access to a laundry room with ironing facilities. Nestled in the idyllic Bearnaise countryside and close to the neighbouring Basque Country, this is a perfect location to enjoy touring the south west of France. The space Spacious and light, the living area has windows facing south to the Pyrenees and patio doors onto the balcony. Facing west this is a great place to enjoy your evening apéro as the sun sets . Next to the apartment is a field for your use, with beautiful valley views and the Pyrenees. Here, you can picnic, play or sunbathe. There is a dining table and chairs available on a flat, grassed terrace. For your entertainment, Wifi is available, TV with Netflix, Amazon and terrestrial channels. There are also books and magazines in English, French and Spanish as well as board games to play. Your entrance faces west. We will be there to welcome you, but your apartment is totally independent from our home. Other things to note The booking is 2 nights minimum There is no gas in the building, therefore no requirement for a carbon – monoxide alarm. The apartment has been created from an old hayloft on the 1st floor of a renovated barn. Therefore, there are a set of stairs to gain access. They are safe, level and have a secure hand rail. At night they are well lit. There is an art studio on the ground floor that occasionally runs workshops. If you are interested in a class, please make contact and we can book you in. We have a permaculture potager and chickens. If you would like a tour around or to meet the chickens, just ask! Please be aware that our property is not enclosed by walls or fences. For this reason we do not accept pets as they may escape too easily, chasing after local dogs, cats, deer or wild boar that can roam around at night! We of course accept service animals as they are very well trained, so this should not be a problem. Located between the motorways A64 and A65 , there are convenient links to Toulouse, Bordeaux, Basque Country and les Landes. Close enough to the Spanish border and ports for a convenient couple of days stop over. 4 km from the pretty village of Morlanne - Castle of Gaston Febus, picnic areas, pretty walks, local cafes 8 km from Arzacq Arraziguet - A bastide town on the French Way of the Camino de Santiago, all necessary amenities can be found including bakery, grocery, fish shop, small supermarket, restaurants, bar, banks, doctors 17km north of Pau airport, and 25 km from Pau centre.
