Overlooking large garden & tennis court. (Bring rackets). Basic kitchen inc: sink, micro, fridge & coffee machine. Ground floor: Shower, sink & WC. Delicious Milk Shed Coffee Shop 2 min walk. Drive in minutes to Oxford (10) Kirtlington & Oxford Polo (5)- Bicester Village (7) Easy train connections to London etc. The space Location: Located in a delightful position between Oxford and Bicester with easy access to the M40 and A34. The Oak Room Annexe is a unique and airy accommodation set over two floors, attached to the main farmhouse where the owners live but with its own private entrance, it is entirely independent. The Oak Room overlooks a large garden and tennis court, which you are welcome to use with prior agreement. The space: Enter via a black metal gate and oak and glass panelled door, into a double height hallway with adjoining, private wc/shower room with tiled floor with underfloor heating. From the hallway, an oak staircase leads you up to the kitchenette and bedroom/sitting room. The kitchenette: Comprising of a sink, toaster, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, simple microwave, under-counter fridge (with small incorporated freezer). There are glasses, mugs, plates, breakfast/soup bowls, and cutlery provided. It is suitable for basic food preparing and complimentary tea, coffee, milk and biscuits await your arrival. The main room: A rustic oak door leads you from the kitchenette into a large open plan bedroom/sitting room with has high ceilings, oak peg and beams construction and wooden floors. The decoration is quintessentially English, with rustic-charm with a touch of eccentricity. There is a good quality double bed and also a single trundle bed ideal for children, two large sofas and a rocking chair. Board games available on request. Outdoors: You can enjoy walks from your doorstep, or partake in a game of tennis on the garden court. Please note at the moment there is no dedicated outdoor space for guests to sit in. A stones throw away you can take part in or watch polo at Kirtlington or take gliding / flight lessons at Oxford Gliding or practise your golf or Smash Paddle tennis at Bicester Golf and Spa. This countryside retreat is well placed for easy access into Oxford or deeper into the charming Oxfordshire countryside, Cotswolds and Chilterns. See our Guide for some wonderful things to do and places to eat. Minimum stay 2 nights, although we can offer single night stays with a supplementary charge of £20/head. The Oak Room, is ideal for short breaks, business trips or those wishing to explore everything Oxfordshire has to offer: from the historic university city with its world-famous Colleges, towering steeples, river punting, endless site seeing, tales and trails of Alice in Wonderland, Inspector Morse and Harry Potter .... to the renowned Bicester Village Shopping experience and Silverstone race track circuit or the polo fields of Kirtlington. Take a two minute walk to the ever popular Milk Shed Cafe (closed Mondays) for a delicious and low key breakfast, brunch or lunch to add to the list of happy memories made here in Oxfordshire. Further afield: Heathrow and Birmingham airports are 50 miles away via the nearby M40. Stratford and the Shakespeare theatres are 40 mins drive, and London 42 mins train journey away from Bicester's North or Bicester Village rail stations (to Maryelbone) or from Oxford (to Paddington). There is also the Oxford Tube bus service which takes you from Oxford’s Gloucester Green into Nottinghill and onto Victoria. We look forward to welcoming you to the Oak Room Oxfordshire. Off street parking for x1 car available and further free on road parking at the end of the gravel drive.
