Charming Cabin Near Hässleholm

The space July 2026 Update - a dishwasher and laundry washing machine have been installed in the kitchen, so all guests will now have use of these added amenities. Welcome to Lagom House Sweden! Lagom is a small Swedish word with a big meaning – “Not too little, not too much, just right” – it perfectly captures the essence of this beautiful cabin and gardens. Built in 1932, and lovingly restored and renovated over the last few years, Lagom House has all the traditional charms of a Swedish country home, along with many stylish contemporary additions to enhance guest comfort and enjoyment. I have been an Airbnb Superhost in Los Angeles, and Perth (Australia) for 14 years, so I have extensive experience creating memorable and special stays for my guests. Inside the house, on the ground floor you’ll find a living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and toilet. Upstairs you’ll find the main sleeping areas – two bedrooms and a small lounging area with a hanging chair to relax in. The fully private bedroom (with the blue and white wallpaper) has a King sized bed, while the other bedroom (white, painted wood walls) has a Queen sized bed and features a beautiful and open barn style ceiling. This bed now has a privacy curtain for guest comfort. All beds have plush new mattress pads and hotel style bed linens, duvets and pillows. The downstairs bathroom features a rain shower head and towels provided for all guests. In the large open bedroom guests can also (upon request) use a single bed and a double floor mattress. The cottage has fast WiFi throughout the house, and 17 streaming channels on the TV. You can also connect to your favourite streaming services like Netflix. You are welcome to travel with your dog, and I have hosted many guests with dogs. Due to allergies, I am unable to host cats unfortunately. Due to the fact there are a few stairs up to the cottage entrance and the cottage is on two levels, unfortunately the cabin is not suitable for guests with mobility or accessibility issues. While the house is located on the edge of a small village, Västra Torup, it has no neighbours directly next door to the house (there are neighbours across the road from the house), and a large yard and garden filled with mature fruit trees, wild berries, and old growth maples, pine and birch trees. This provides a sense of privacy for the cabin, and the cabin looks out onto a forest behind the adjoining sports field. Behind the house is the village’s sporting hall, Torvalla Arena, which also features a dog agility training field. There are monthly wood fired pizza nights at the sporting hall where you can walk over and join in for a pizza with members of the village community if you wish. Otherwise, enjoy the sense of peace and privacy the cabin and garden offer. Play Boules in the yard, or simply sit and soak up the nature surrounding you. In Spring and summer, the garden fills with flowers, and in autumn the changing leaves create an unforgettable palette of rich color. Winter brings the opportunity to snuggle up inside the cabin, or explore the surrounding winter landscapes. There are many spectacular nature hikes and swimming lakes close to the cabin, including a 1.6km nature boardwalk and lakeside picnic area just a few minutes walk away, and a stunning national park is just 20 minutes drive from the cabin. Nestled in between the towns of Tyringe and Perstorp, Västra Torup is a small village with just 200 residents. It has a rich history, and one of the finest historic churches in the region. The cabin is conveniently located to Highway 21, with the small city of Hässleholm just a 15 minute drive, and the vibrant college city of Lund and harbor city of Helsingborg are both a 45 minute drive away. Malmö is just an hour’s drive, with all that Sweden’s second largest city offers close enough for a day trip. Guest access Guests have access to the entire house, outdoor areas and garden. Other things to note Lagom House welcomes guests with dogs. Dogs must be fully house trained, and guests must provide a dog bed – no dogs on any furniture or beds please. Unfortunately, due to owner allergies, we cannot host cats.
