Ekornhytta (Squirrel-cabin)

Welcome to “Ekornhytta,” with a stunning view over Strandfjorden and Jotunheimen. The cabin is located about 35 km from Beitostølen and only 6-8 km from Leira og Fagernes. Here, you can easily combine nature experiences with “city life,” as Fagernes offers something for every taste: restaurants, festivals, bars, etc The space The cabin was completed in 2023 and offers a high standard while maintaining a warm and cozy atmosphere. It features a living room with an open-plan design and a kitchen island, 3 bedrooms, a bathroom with a sauna, and a toilet. Bedroom 1: Sleeps 2 (140 cm bed) Bedroom 2: Sleeps 3 (150 cm + 90 cm beds) Bedroom 3: Sleeps 1(2) (120 cm bed) Sofa bed in the living room: Sleeps 2 additional guests (150 cm bed) The cabin has 6 duvets and 6 pillows. Bed linen and towels are available for an additional fee of NOK 150 per person. Electricity up to a daily usage of 30 kW summer and 50 kW winter is included in the price. Firewood is included for weekend stays; otherwise, it can be arranged upon request. Other things to note The plot is sloped and faces southwest, providing sunlight until late in the evening during summer. The last part of the gravel road to the cabin is steep with a couple of sharp turns. While it may seem intimidating, it is entirely possible to drive all the way up to the cabin, even with larger vehicles. One suggestion is to reverse the second part of the driveway (after the first turn), but it is also possible to turn around at the turn if you have some patience. There are several parking spaces on the cabin property. In winter, a 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended. Alternatively, you can park in a “pocket” before the driveway and walk the last 50 meters.
