Welcome to 'The Big House'. A modern large home with established gardens in semi rural Swannanoa/Mandeville. Perfect base for Canterbury ski fields. Close to the Mandeville sports grounds, hiking, fishing and other outdoor activities. With takeaways and restaurants up the road for quick meals or our local supermarket so you can prepare your own meals in the large modern and well equipped kitchen. Outdoor dining, with BBQ, or choose to gather around the family table. 25 mins to Christchurch. The space The 'Big House' has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 living areas and a large open plan kitchen/dining with plenty of room for everyone. BBQ and outdoor seating under covered patio. The house sleeps up to 10 people. Bedroom 1. Sleeps 2. King bed with ensuite & WIR Bedroom 2. Sleeps up to 4. A bunk bed with a double on the bottom & single on top. There is also a trundle bed under the bunk with proper mattress. Bedroom 3. Sleeps 2. Queen size bed. Bedroom 4. Sleeps 2. Queen size bed. The beds are made up with fresh linen and a towel for each guest is provided. The kitchen is very well equipped. A large entertainers oven with induction top. Dishwasher, microwave and many small appliances can be found in the walk in pantry. In there you will also find some basic staple ingredients, at your disposal, if you feel like cooking or baking. For entertainment there is a smart TV, some board games, a full size foosball table and free WIFI. There is a washing machine , an outside clothes line and a wire clothes airer for inside. In the winter months there is a wood burner fire in the living area and also a heat pump/air conditioner. We hope you enjoy your stay and would appreciate if you would leave a review. Guest access There are a couple of storage rooms in the house that are locked but the rest of the house is available to guests. Depending on guest numbers, one or two of the bedrooms may be locked if not needed. Other things to note The house is in a semi rural setting. Rarely, there maybe noise and smells associated with farming eg: cows, sheep and fertiliser. Rural school buses have pick up and drop off stops on our road. Please look out for children and remember, if a school bus has stopped it is 20kms either way when passing. We live on the property in a separate dwelling that is fenced off from the 'Big House'. Our side has working sheds and glass houses that are not accessible or visible to guests. Please read the guest book when you arrive for other details .
