Husky Ranch glacier & bay views!
You'll feel the serenity of Alaskan country & wilderness beauty staying out of town on 10 acres! Small, neat, clean home with windows framing postcard worthy views! Carrots provided to feed the horses & hiking trails close by. Comfort for the soul! This small ranch used to be home to a kennel of 80 huskies who did tours for 20 years! Today, the dogs are gone, but I sometimes keep my horse there, there's a 45 gal aquarium and always wonderful hiking trails to pick wild flowers and maybe spot a moose! Very private yet open to the ever changing scene of Kachemak Bay. The septic has been upgraded to allow full flushing privileges with no problem; the 'pioneer tank' is gone! You will have the whole house to call 'home' while you stay at the ranch! The owner, Lorraine, works summers in Cooper Landing where she has another vacation rental called Kahtnu Spirit Lodging, also listed with Airbnb. There will be a manager on site and her number is always available for information and help. Our neighbors are quite a far way away; easy to sit on the deck and sip beverage of choice as the sun sets. We are an easy 15-20 minute drive to downtown; add another 10 to get out to the end of the Homer Spit so you'll need your own transportation. The drive is worth the extra effort, it's awe-inspiring to say the least! If you want to play with husky puppies, please stop by our other Airbnb in Cooper Landing called Kahtnu Spirit Lodging where I will have puppies under 6 weeks old all summer! When they get too old, I give them back to their owners and get a fresh litter! As a retired dog musher, raising the pups is one things I still love to do! Note: there have been times that the puppies aren't available for one reason or another. We have our friendly 3 huskies that would love a visit!
