The Old Cowshed

Relax in the Kent countryside surrounded by original paintings inspired by the natural world. Architect designed and artist owned, this is a unique haven an hour from London. White interiors with original mid century furniture, with splashes of colour in a converted cowshed. Outside you have access to miles walks of walks on your doorstep, including to the excellent local pubs. Perfectly placed for Penshurst Place, Hever Castle and the many other delights Kent offers. The space The property is nested down a private lane, in the medieval village of Penshurst. It is completely quiet and tranquil with excellent star gazing. Penshurst Village and its fabulous village pub, The Leicester Arms is a 15min walk away over (very often muddy) fields. Other excellent pubs are a 5min drive, The Bottle House Inn and The Kentish Hare. The lovely towns of Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks are about 10-15min drive away. The best train link to London is from Tonbridge, every 10mins, 45mins to London Bridge. There is an open plan main space with large lounge with a 4 seater sofa, dining area seating up to 8 and a fully equipped kitchen. The two bedrooms are at opposite ends of the property making it ideal for two sets of couples. Both rooms are ensuite. The larger bedroom with king size bed has ample wardrobes and an ensuite with a walk in shower. The smaller bedroom is a double, hanging via hooks, this ensuite has a bath with a shower over. The property has far reaching south facing uninterrupted countryside views. Guest access The cowshed has its own private parking and garden, which is part of a larger property. Other things to note The property is an 18th Century converted cowshed. As with all old properties please expect some quirks. The property was recently renovated, but was lived in for a year. My advice never put a cream carpet in a country property! The carpet shows some wear and tear. We only use natural cleaning products. We do not allow pets but there is a small dog on site. If you are allergic to animals there were two cats who lived in the property for a year, but it has been professionally cleaned.
