To come and discover our little corner of paradise is to choose to get off the beaten track for an experience in a magical place that we'll be happy to share with you. La Cima del Mundo is a 5-hectare property at an altitude of 1,300 m, in a calm, peaceful environment surrounded by lush nature, offering unique views of the valley and mountains. The house is comfortable and warm, just like the welcome we like to offer to our guests. The space La casita del Sol is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. From its covered terrace, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the mountains while sipping your morning coffee, or admiring one of our amazing sunsets. You'll also have plenty of time to observe hummingbirds and other lovely birds. You can relax in the living-dining room with fireplace, or prepare your favorite meals in the fully-equipped kitchen. The two double bedrooms offer comfortable sleeping space for four. The bathroom features a shower with hot water. The water is drinkable, it’s the public water from a source in the forest behind us. This water supplies 3 villages in the valley. Small private garden area behind the house. Strong and stable Wifi internet connection, allowing all types of online work (classes, meetings, etc.) without any problems. Access to the house is via a stone staircase. Covered parking nearby. We've made this casita a warm and artistic place where you immediately feel at home. Guest access You'll have access to our whole property, except our house. You'll be able to enjoy the spectacular view of our valley from our view point. To be there at sunset, accompanied by the song of the toucans, is an incredible and unforgettable experience. Children can enjoy the playground with trampoline, sandbox and swings. Starting from our property, there's a trail, relatively flat and big, of around 4 km through the forest, where you may see Capuchin monkeys, spider monkeys, coatis and other wildlife. There are many activities to do in the valley, such as hiking, trekking up to over 3800 m, walking, waterfalls, hot-water pools, trout fishing, horse riding, paragliding, river swimming, visits to farms producing delicious cheeses, coffee, etc. All these activities are between 5 and 8 km from our location. Our valley also offers a good choice of restaurants with excellent value for money. There's also a bakery and an organic grocery store. A small, friendly market is held every Wednesday in the village of Chimirol, 3 km from our place. San Isidro del General, the largest town in southern Costa Rica, is just 17 km away, with all the necessities. Expatriates from 18 years in this beautiful little country, we aim to offer our guests a unique and memorable vacation experience. We'd be delighted to share our local knowledge with you and help you plan activities during your stay. Whether you want to explore the surrounding mountains, discover the local wildlife or simply relax with a massage, we're here to help! Other things to note We recommend the use of a 4x4 or SUV to get to our house and to visit the region and the country freely. There is no washing machine or tumble dryer in the house but we do offer a laundry service for $20 a load, washed/dried/folded.
