Izu Oshima is an outlying island less than 2 hours by jet boat from Tokyo. You can enjoy dynamic active volcanoes, Japan's only desert, a sea where you can see a lot of fish just by looking at it, nostalgic townscapes, delicious food, and more. Our accommodation is located a 15-minute walk from Motomachi, the heart of Izu Oshima. One of the attractions is the ability to walk to shopping, dining, and hot springs. We originally met while living at other locations (address hopping) and got married. We moved to Izu Oshima, which we had visited several times while living in other locations, in January 2024, and are now renovating an old private house in Habu (southern Oshima) into a rental accommodation alongside our main business. (Opened in May 2025!) We work remotely during the weekdays, so it is difficult to accommodate frequent guest turnover, so we set a great price for long-term stays. One of the things that was difficult when moving to Oshima was finding a home. It took us almost half a year to find our current home. If you are considering moving to Oshima, please consider trying it out. As a new resident, there is a limit to what we can do, but we can also help you with relocation advice. The space This is a 47-year-old single-story house with a garden. There are 3 private rooms (1 room is our room, 2 rooms are guest rooms), and there is 1 shared space each for the living room, kitchen, bath, washroom, and toilet. Feel free to use the fire pit, firewood, and camping chairs. Feel free to use the island peppers and herbs grown in the home garden. Guest access Feel free to use anything on the premises, except for other people's private rooms. Other things to note Sometimes you can hear loud noises from the neighborhood during the day.
