It typically flows after snowmelt and solid rains (can be very dry July-October) • Vintage home = a few harmless quirks like a couple of sticky windows that won't stay open without a prop. We keep the home well-maintained but have tried to keep the vintage character intact. • Wildlife lives here. You may see deer, foxes, turkeys and birds of prey from the kitchen window. • No ridiculous rules: throw your trash away, and treat the home as your own :) • Plenty of firewood by the fire pit - we allot guests one bucket (approx.) for free per night stay • This is our second home, so you will find it very well stocked with anything that you might need - including condiments in the fridge, and feminine hygiene products in the bathroom. As it is our second home it will not feel like a hotel; there are pictures on the walls, vintage glassware in the cupboards, and a surplus of lived-in character. **Distances** • Saratoga Race Course: ~10–15 min • Spa State Park & SPAC amphitheater: ~12–15 min • Downtown Saratoga: ~10–15 min • Yaddo Gardens ~10–12 min • Moreau Lake State Park ~10–12 min • Adirondack trailheads: ~20–40+ min • ALB International: ~30 min As Katrina Trask (Yaddo) once wrote, “This is a house of dreams… not only mine, but yours also, if you enter with your heart.” That spirit lives on here — in every cozy room, every winding trail through the trees, and every thoughtful detail curated for your stay by a family with deep roots in Saratoga stretching back many generations. Whether you’re here for the races, the foliage, a solo retreat, or a cozy weekend by the fire: this isn’t just a place to stay — it’s a place to breathe, remember, and feel at home. We look forward to hosting you at Escape from Saratoga! Guest access Guests have the entire home and surrounding land to explore. Feel free to wander throughout the 50 acres on our little mountain, which often feels like the Adirondacks - but with strong cell service, DoorDash and Uber/Lyft. We’ll share a simple property and trail map in your arrival guide. Other things to note This is a lovingly maintained and remodeled vintage home, built in 1967 by my grandparents — not a modern hotel. That means a little charm, a few quirks, a massive amount of thought and effort, and plenty of character (and supplies). WiFi is strong, cell service is reliable, and yes, both DoorDash and Uber can find us easily. The waterfall is real (though seasonal), and the house is very well-stocked for guests — but if you can’t find something, it’s probably here… just tucked in a spot that made sense at the time. Our apologies in advance if the squirrel has once again figured out how to get into the attic — it’s been a four-generation battle with nature.
