Luxury Bi-Level Loft in the Trumbull House

Welcome to the Trumbull House Townhome! A spacious two-floor 2 bed / 1.5 bath condo fully refurbished in 2019, the Townhome comprises the southern side of the historic Trumbull House. Private condo entrance, secure gated parking, 12' ceilings, exposed brick accents, granite countertops, premium stainless steel appliances, and a massive walk-in "rain shower." ~2 minutes to Midtown, ~3 minutes to Corktown, ~5 minutes to Downtown. The space Built in 1897, the Trumbull House underwent a comprehensive refurbishment in 2019 to modernize the building while preserving the beautiful design elements and architectural style unique to early-20th-century Detroit! The Townhome has two full levels, connected by a unique staircase with mid-century modern chandelier. The first level has an open floor plan incorporating the kitchen, living room, and dining room with massive custom windows facing Calumet St. The second level has both bedrooms, as well as the large bathroom with full walk-in "rain-shower" and side-by-side / "his-and-hers" vanity sinks. It is a beautiful space, so please please please no smoking or vaping! The Townhome has both central heating and A/C controlled by a Nest thermostat, which you are free to adjust as you please! There is high-speed Wifi and an HDTV with Chromecast full access to most streaming services, including Netflix, HBO, Hulu, YouTube, as well as all of the broadcast and cable networks. The kitchen has all the basic essentials, including plates, bowls, cutlery, glasses, pots, pans, a Nespresso espresso machine (with "Vertuo" style pods), and a premium "Ninja" coffee maker that works with both coffee grounds and Keurig pods. The main kitchen sink is outfitted with a Pur water filtration system, allowing you to switch between ultra-filtered water and standard tap water. There is a full-sized refrigerator and a dishwasher, and for laundry there is an in-unit washer/dryer. The dining room is on the first level of the Townhome and has a table, as well as a counter with two bar stools. The Townhome has two bedrooms, the master with a queen-sized bed, and the second bedroom with a full-sized bed. There is also one large, extra-long "L" couch. There are extras of everything you might need (pillows, sheets, blankets, etc.). The bedrooms each have a closet and multiple plugs if you would like to charge your devices. As mentioned above, there is a full bathroom on the second level, and there is a half-bathroom on the first level. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and various other hygiene items are in the apartment, but if you have any additional/specific requests before your stay, just ask before your stay and we'll try to make it happen! Trumbull House has an attached fenced/secure parking lot with an automatic gate and the Townhome has 1 assigned spot, closest to the automatic gate. There is also free street parking if you have more than 1 car (please do not park 2 cars in the parking lot as each spot is assigned to the other tenants/owners in the building!). The gate is operated by a "clicker," which you will receive upon check-in. Access to the Townhome is directly from the secure parking lot on the side of the building closest to the gate. Entry to the Townhome is via smart lock - you will be provided a randomized access code for the lock that will work for the duration of your stay, so no need to bring keys with you if you head out to dinner, bars, or a show! The neighborhood is safe, quiet, and residential to begin with and Trumbull House is very secure, but the apartment also has a Ring "smart" alarm system. You absolutely do NOT have to use it if you don't want, but if you do, the code to arm/disarm the alarm system will be the same as your smart lock access code (the systems are linked). Regarding stairs, access to the townhome is on the first floor of the Trumbull House. Bedrooms are up 1 flight of stairs on the second level of the Townhome (no elevator). Again, please no smoking or vaping! It is extremely difficult and expensive to get the smell out. Unfortunately, NO PETS ALLOWED. We are required to disclose by Airbnb privacy policy that there is an outside/exterior security camera controlled by the building association. Other things to note NO PARTIES! This is a quiet residential building with people living in the other units, so please be respectful. ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING OR VAPING - the smell is so difficult to get out and it makes stays for future guests much less pleasant, so unfortunately we have to impose a $250 charge if there is any smell of smoke.
