Historic Hammock House

The Historic Hammock House, located inside Rock Springs Run State Reserve is truly one-of-a-kind. The house & surroundings are peaceful, spacious, & unbelievably beautiful. This property exudes Old Florida history & charm. Private, gated access leads to a 5-acres nestled on the Wekiva River, a designated National Wild and Scenic River. The large house boasts three bedrooms, three bathrooms, detached in-law suite, kitchen, game room, horse barn, & huge back yard with firepit & river access. The space The Hammock House is located inside Rock Springs Run State Reserve, a protected and historic State Park. Visitors can enjoy direct access to bicycling, hiking or horseback riding along 17 miles of pristine, natural trails. This property is an outdoor lovers' paradise. In the large backyard, the house has direct access to the Wekiva River, a designated National Wild and Scenic River. Abundant wildlife is on site year round. Guest may launch their own personal kayaks or canoes into the River from the back yard. River access is approximately 1.5 miles from Katie's Landing to the north, and 5 miles to Wekiwa Springs State Park to the south. Additional amenities on property include guided horseback rides and the ability to host private events for a fee. The bedroom set-ups are: - Master bedroom with 1 king bed. - Bedroom 2 with a queen bed with a twin bunk above. - Bedroom 3 with a queen bed with a twin bunk above. The entire house is very spacious, and we allow traveling parties of up to 16 to stay in the home. Aside from the beds listed above, guests may provide their own additional airbeds, etc. if desired. No more than 16 people can stay in the house under any circumstances. In addition to the bedrooms, the house offers a large living room, dining room, kitchen, game room with pool table, chess board, and card table, and a large utility room with access to a commercial washer and dryer. A 9-stall horse barn is available for guests to use for an additional $30/horse/night. Guests may bring their own horses for a layover or extended getaway. The Hammock House offers direct access to an extensive trail system. We are next door to Wekiva Falls that offers resort day passes, kayak and canoe rentals, and swimming. The house is accessed through a locked gate. After gate entry, the house is approximately 1 mile down a dirt road. The house is located a very short distance from the 429, SR 46, and I-4, offering easy and fast access to Orlando, Sanford, Mount Dora, Apopka, and other surrounding cities. Outdoor activities, parks, zoos, antiquing, restaurants, shopping, festivals, sight seeing and day trips are minutes away. Guest access We provide contactless check-in Prior to check-in, we will share a unique gate code for property access. Please note, the gate is not on an electronic arm. Guests must manually open the lock and swing the gate open and closed each time they enter or leave property. Access to the house will be given with a unique door code. Other things to note - Smoking is not allowed inside the house. - We take great precautions to ensure wildlife, including black bears, do not become attracted to the house due to garbage left in bins outside. We ask our guests to do the same. We provide very clear directions on how to manage trash while on property. - The Hammock House is a historic property in an unbelievable location. We have updated it to make it very comfortable, but have preserved many of the unique, historic features and aspects. We describe the house as spacious, comfortable, and rustic. - Events held on the property must be preapproved in writing by the host. Additional event fees will apply. The host reserves the right to decline any type of event for any reason without explanation.
