Your suite is located on the lower level of our home in the College Heights Historic District of Durham, within easy walking distance to NC Central University and the American Tobacco Trail. You'll be 1.5 miles from downtown Durham's craft food, bespoke cocktails and cultural arts scene, and 15-20 minutes from Southpoint Mall, Duke University/Hospital, UNC/UNC Hospitals. Enjoy the full kitchen, W/D, walk-in shower, and guest-managed heating and air conditioning. The space Your suite, with private entrance, features natural bamboo flooring in the living, dining, and bedroom areas and poured concrete in the bathroom. The kitchen includes full-sized, stainless steel appliances, dining and drinkware for four, cooking necessities (pots, pans, utensils) and basic spices. After a day of sightseeing in downtown Durham toss your socks in the stacked Bosch washer/dryer. There is a 32" Smart TV plus a dedicated hub for a strong Wi-Fi signal with AT&T high-speed fiber. You control the heating and air conditioning via units in the living room and bedroom. The bedroom has a full closet and queen bed. The bathroom features a large, walk-in shower (3" step), chair-height toilet, and wall heater for warm shower exits. There’s a Graco pack ‘n’ play/travel crib (purchased new November 2021) stored in the suite, so feel free to bring the little one. We do live on a fairly steep hill. We leave the full driveway open for guests so you can stop wherever you’re comfortable; you don’t need to worry about blocking the garage at the bottom near your entry. You can also park on the street at the top of the hill on weekends. We ask that you do not smoke inside the suite. Outside, do you. Please dispose of smoking leftovers responsibly. We have Ring cameras on the front of the house, the back and over the deck. We’ve included the viewpoint of the deck camera the photos for your information. You’re welcome to pull to the bottom where the entrance to your suite is located (don’t worry about blocking the garage). There’s also free street parking on weekends. 2. Our pipes are delicate. In deference to them, there’s no garbage disposal in the kitchen and we request that nothing be flushed other than Angel Soft toilet tissue. Opaque disposable bags are provided in the bathroom for everything else (wipes, tampons, etc). 3. The ceilings are at 7.5 feet so a very tall person may feel that they are low. 4. No smoking inside. Outside is fine but please dispose of your smoking leftovers responsibly. 5. Again, it’s imperative that you not flush anything other than Angel Soft toilet tissue. 6. It’s a basement suite. Despite our best efforts, you may see a rolypoly or a millipede. 7. No parties or groups are permitted. No one other than the person(s) on the reservation are permitted to stay overnight. 8. Quiet hours 10:30pm - 9:30am.
