Welcome to the cabins at Wendego Lodge on Tranquille Lake. Enjoy your 100% off-grid, rustic cabin in the middle of the BC wilderness. You are right on the lake with beautiful views AND a wood burning sauna. No electricity/cell service! This is an all-season property: swimming, boating, hiking and quadding in the summer, hunting in the fall, and ice fishing, snowmobiling (100s of km of trail right from your door) in the winter. All year long fish for natural rainbow trout and Kokanee. The space This is a rustic 100% off-grid experience! We have recently added a 16 person wood burning barrel sauna overlooking the lake - free for your use! SLEEPING: The cabin has two bedrooms separated by curtains from the living space and features: One queen Two single bunks One double futon ***Sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, lanterns, and propane cook stove are available upon request with a fee. HEATING/COOKING:There is a wood stove for heat and cooking and wood is supplied and cold running water in the summer months. A wood burning BBQ is available for use and a huge upright smoker for your fish haul (bring your own propane cylinder). BATHROOMS: Flush toilets and hot showers are available in the wash house steps away in the summer and in the lodge in the other months. There are no bathrooms in the cabin. ELECTRICITY: The cabins have no electricity. Please bring your own lanterns and flashlights. WATER FUN: The cabin is RIGHT ON THE WATER and in the summer we have dock for jumping off of or launching a boat. We have kayaks, floaties and paddle boards available on a first come first served basis. Boat rental with 6.5 HP motor also available for $99 a day. Ice fishing is excellent in the winter. WE PROVIDE: dishes, cups, mugs, cutlery, cooking pots and some utensils. YOU NEED TO BRING: whatever you need for sleeping (bags or blankets and sheets, pillows), food, drinking water, and personal items such as towels and toiletries. Firewood and water (from the lake) for washing is provided. There is no fridge so you will need to bring a cooler with ice for your perishables. Town is an hour away. CHECK-OUT: Please leave the cabin clean and tidy and pack out all your garbage and left-over food. Guest access We are located 50 km down a logging road and we advise access only by 4-wheel drive vehicles although many cars have made it in the summer. In the winter, access is by the same road but it is an ice road. Drivable but slippery. We request that you call/email when you hit the gravel road 50 km away so we know when to expect you. You have access to the lodge property, lake, dock, trails, grass area and kayaks/floaties/paddle boards when available. Boat rental available with gas for $99 per day. Other things to note We are deep in the BC wilderness surrounded by trees and lakes and wildlife. This is the ultimate experience for those who want to experience the nature and austerity of British Columbia but have the comfort of wifi and hosts nearby. We do not have any cell service but you can access wi-fi for calling, messaging, checking in, checking email etc. at the lodge and around the grounds. We also have emergency satellite beacons if needed. There are seven other cabins that are rentable on site so there is likely other people around. The cabins do not have electricity (and no fridge) and only have cold running water in the summer. There are no bathrooms in the cabins but flush toilets and hot showers are available steps away in the wash house and lodge. You will need to bring everything you would require for camping. The cabins are very rustic but have new comfortable beds and a stove for heating and cooking. Some dishes and cooking utensils are supplied. You are welcome to bring your pet if it is friendly.
