Welcome to the A-Frame Whidbey, a modern space for you and your loved-ones to connect, relax and recharge. Built in 2024 and designed by Whidbey Island architect and artist David Price, details are important here: we’ve curated high quality building finishes, furnishings and accessories for you to experience the most memorable stay. The space Your home for your stay is a five minute drive from the idyllic village of Langley. You’ll find the ideal balance of nature and accessibility: the cabin is nestled among the cedar trees in a quiet neighborhood near the end of a single lane gravel road yet close to charming shops and restaurants. Furnishings are thoughtfully curated and are a combination of high quality modern pieces and mid century vintage. Artwork and accessories have been collected over time. THE SPACE If you'd like to do a photo/video shoot (anything for marketing purposes) please contact us for more info, as this affects rates and scheduling. BEDROOMS & SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS: Bedrooms are designed with the simplicity of Scandinavian Hygge, each contain a platform bed with a high quality Beautyrest mattress, two side tables, a closet and a luggage rack. We only use organic, 100% cotton white sheets and linen duvets. Pillows are plentiful and feather filled. Upstairs bedroom features a king-sized bed, downstairs a queen. The loft includes a sofa, Amazon Fire TV, cabinet, and can sleep an extra person on the sofa’s feather-filled bench cushion, which fits the twin sheet set provided. BATHROOMS: High quality finishes in each bathroom were chosen with intention: tiles are a combination of modern cement Cle-tiles and classic Carrera marble. Downstairs bathroom enjoys a shower and a small Japanese soaker tub, upstairs a large shower. Note about septic: the cabin is on a septic system with a pump, any foreign matter other than provided toilet paper will clog the pump and require an off-hour plumber to come from the mainland at guest expense to remove the item flushed and repair the pump. WORK SPACE: The A-Frame is equipped with Starlink high speed Wifi. Work at the large dining table, or use instead use the living room’s game table as a dedicated work area. MODERN CONVENIENCES: A washer and dryer are conveniently located in the downstairs hallway. The fully equipped chef’s kitchen (the owner is a chef) features Italian appliances: a fridge, induction range and dishwasher. It's stocked with chef-quality cooking utensils and dinner-ware. Additionally, there is a coffee bar with a nespresso machine and a teapot. We provide nespresso pods, sugar and creamer. You’ll also find a blender and toaster tucked away. IDYLLIC SETTING: While the A-Frame is located on a small, quiet road with other quiet neighbors, the setting is idyllic and relaxing. Whether you’re spending a slow morning sipping your coffee on the deck, preparing a meal in the chefs kitchen, or working remotely in a serene setting, this cabin offers everything you need for a memorable stay. QUIET HOURS In respect to the neighborhood, please observe neighborhood quiet hours from 10:30p-7:30a. No parties or guests other than names associated with booking allowed WIFI & CELL SERVICE: Our Starlink internet service is strong and reliable but on occasion can be subject to satellite obstructions. There is spotty cell service in our area, enabling wifi calling on your phone can make for clearer calls. Please be aware of this before booking. TRAVEL TIMES * Clinton ferry dock: 10 minutes * Langley: 5 minutes * Deception Pass: 55 minutes CAMERAS There are security cameras at the front and back door with recorded feeds. BEACH ACCESS: A 5 minute walk down a wooded bluff trail that is near to, but not on or owned by the A-Frame property, can be used at your own risk. INSECTS/WILDLIFE/GRAVEL ROAD: The A-Frame is located in a wooded setting and you’ll spot insects and wildlife. Deer, bunnies and other critters roam freely. Cars driving by when the weather has been dry for a while can kick up dust, it can be tracked in and make its way inside if doors and windows are open. Please be aware that this does not reflect upon the cleaning procedures of this cabin before you arrive and take into account how comfortable you are with this before booking. ONGOING IMPROVEMENTS: Please pardon the areas of landscaping being worked on during Summer 2024 as we continue to improve. Hardscaping is installed but our landscape team has advised against planting until the 2024 summer drought has passed. NO CLEANING FEES! Assuming guests leave the cabin in tidy & good shape, we do not charge cleaning fees! However, if cleaning requirements are excessive beyond reasonable, we assess a cleaning fee through Airbnb.
