The security guard will take a picture of your driver’s license and the vehicle license plate for each day that you enter Parrot Tree where the home is located. Parking: since the home is located on a hillside lot, the roads are narrow, so vehicles will need to be parked in designated spaces and can’t be parked on the road. Vehicles can be parked in the garage under the home, or along the side of the house at the garage entrance, off of the street. The maximum number of vehicles that can be parked at the home is two. If you have more than two vehicles, additional parking space is located at the marina located within Parrot Tree. The car-port under the home is best suited for a medium to small sized car, however there is also a parking area alongside the home just outside the car-port that is better suited for larger vehicles. If you need any assistance with parking our property manager will be happy to assist. Our property manager will have a wifi hotspot in the home. When you arrive, the hotspot will have 40Gbit of data available at no charge to you. If you decide you want more data, please contact the property manager. The cost to you will be $10 per 40Gig The wifi works very well in the room where the hot spot is located, which is near the TV. Since the house is made of concrete the wifi signal from the hotspot does not travel well to all rooms in the home. Transportation: Due to the location of the secluded home, we highly recommend guests rent a car from the local rental agencies near the airport, or from our property manager - contact info will be shared upon booking. Hot Water Note: Sometimes the Island or our Community is doing testing or repairs and the power will go on and off for a day. *You will need to adjust the water heater when needing hot water,. There are 2 water heaters. One is in the laundry room & the other is in the car port. You will need to set both the water heater to 105 degrees. Sorry for this inconvenience! It’s part of Living in Roatan. Also, It can take a little bit of time for the hot water to get hot. Try running for a min or two. But if the hot water still doesn’t get hot, then the power may have shut off for a short while and you will need to adjust the water heater in the car port and in the laundry room Drinking water: The water for the home is from rainwater that is captured and stored in a cistern. The water is filtered and is considered safe to drink. However, if you feel more comfortable drinking bottled water, you can easily find bottled water for sale at any grocery store on the island. All restaurants on the island utilize purified water. Medical Services: There are several hospitals on the island. The closets hospital – Cemesa Roatan – is located in the Mega Plaza, which is located in French Harbor, roughly 6 miles from the house. There is also a minute clinic – Garm Clinic located in Parrot Tree at the North end of the Marina some months of the year. The house actually overlooks the building where Garm is located. First time on the island? Immigration Documentation: In order to visit the island, all citizens are required to fill out the Honduran immigration form found on-line Citizens are also required to fill out the customs form on-line found on-line Directions: From Juan Manuel Galvez International Airport: Upon exiting the airport, take a right turn on RN35 (CTRA Principal De La Isla De Roatan). Stay on RN35 for about 10 miles, then turn right when you see the sign for Parrot Tree. Stay on road for about .75 miles until you see the gated entrance to Parrot Tree Plantation. Inform the guard that you are staying at the home on Lot 113. Once you pass the guarded gate, take the next right at the fork in the road, which is the drive for private hillside homes and ocean front homes. After driving roughly .25 miles, take the sharp left turn and continue for about 300 feet until you see the home.
