A hiking trail on the property offers spectacular Hudson River views and views of the Castelton-on-Hudson bridge and train trestle. Just 20 min from downtown Albany, 20-25min to Columbia County, and 35min to Catskill, make Sheep River Farmhouse your home base to explore the best of the Hudson Valley. The space Sheep River Farmhouse is located on 20 acres in the woods on the Hudson River just south of the Castleton-on-Hudson bridge. Enjoy a nature escape with close proximity to the best the Hudson Valley has to offer. The ground floor has a large living room with an extra deep sofa from Restoration Hardware and 2 very comfy armchairs. The tv is a smart tv. The expansive kitchen has everything you need - from a Breville espresso maker, induction stove with built-in air fryer, brand new Samsung 4 door fridge/freezer, rice cooker and more. There is a large living area next to the kitchen that holds a breakfast nook with a dining table that seats 6. In addition, there are two oversized swivel armchairs and a sensory swing (why not?!). The area next to the fireplace holds another small laptop nook. Please note: the two fireplaces are not in working condition. Whether you're cooking or ordering in, enjoy a candlelit dinner in the formal dining room that seats up to 8 people. The primary bedroom is very spacious with a queen bed and sitting nook with a recliner. There are 4 large windows overlooking the Hudson River. During the winter months the river is visible. There is an en suite bathroom with a soaking tub, rainshower head and handheld. The Toto toilet offers heated seating, auto open and close, and an integrated bidet. The bathroom floor are also heated with a digital control. The second bedroom with queen bed also has 2 large windows overlooking the Hudson River and another large window facing north into the woodlands. If you're lucky you'll see deer or a fox. The third bedroom has two x-long twin floor beds on very low platforms so both kids and adults alike can enjoy a comfy night sleep. There is a sensory swing, small swinging rings and a small climbing ladder for children to explore. Jungle wall murals bring the unique room to life. There is a very narrow staircase leading down to the kitchen that has been sectioned off with commercial grade netting designed to hold up to 300lbs. It makes the perfect little reading nook for children. The second floor also has a private office/man cave. The desk has a large screen that you can connect to with your laptop. There is also a couch and armchair with a smart tv. The yard has several swings, walking trails and beautiful views of the Hudson River. In the summer, enjoy a relaxing time in the heated, 50ft pool with loungers, a dining table. The pool house is equipped with a mini fridge, table and chairs and workout equipment. The pool is generally open from early May - late September but please contact us for specific dates. 2025 POOL OPENING DATE: JUNE 2. Children/infant items such as booster seat, toddler tower, 2 changing tables, 2 pack n plays, children bathtub insert, bottle warmer, potty, mattress bumper, toys, and more available upon request. Guest access You will have access to the entire home, except the attic and three storage closets. The pool house is open for use year round but *please note* there is no heating/cooling. The farmhouse has been renovated and is annually treated but we are located in the woods and insects do make their way into the home on occasion. NOTE: Neither fireplaces are in working condition.
