Description

This memorable place is anything but ordinary. Located on a 1/4 acre residential block in the outback, this modern tiny home/caravan, with a Bohéme twist is visited by our friendly chooks, has access to a vege garden, medicinal & culinary herbs, a fire pit and is a skip away from the local bore baths, swimming pool and the culinary delights of the local Sporting Club. The space Though we occupy the ‘industrial end of town’ (3 industrial buildings!) we are situated only a 1 minute walk from the IGA. 2 houses down from your accommodation then cross the road & you’re at the Sporting Club - has a really good feed, a pool comp, bingo & poker nights, golf course and tennis courts (recently refurbished). Inland Petroleum is on the way to the IGA, as is the centre of town, coffee shops, local drive-through bottle shop, hardware, Chinese restaurant, post office & police station. Basically, you can walk to anything in town within a couple of minutes. Over the road is a lovely park with swings and the local swimming pool. Alongside is the Artesian Bore Bath which is open during winter from 7am-6pm. Toddle across the road with our pool towels for a soak. A good idea is a night time dip then curl up in bed - people say it helps with aches & pains, and a good night’s sleep. The space you will occupy is in the front yard of a 1/4 acre block, it has a parking space within the yard, and plenty of free parking on the street. The front gate can be closed at any time during your stay for your own security, though we feel very safe where we are and rarely close the gate at night 😊 Security is very good here. Our neighbour is police housing & there is very good street lighting out the front. You are welcome to use the fire pit out the back. We just ask you to provide your own wood in the event we haven’t had time to collect any! Nothing better on a cold night. Bags of wood can be purchased locally and we can give you contact numbers for wood suppliers. We have an outdoor table & seating in the garden if you’d like a change of scenery, some big shade trees and an outdoor umbrella. There’s also a good ol’ Hills Hoist you are welcome to use. Guest access You will have access to the fire pit in the back yard (we ask you to provide your own wood in the event we do not have any available), the clothes line, you may wander around the gardens, visit the chooks and collect the eggs if you wish 😊 Other things to note The Albatross is aptly named for her desire to go where the wind takes her. We travelled in her for 2 years and have had lots of other adventures with her. Pushka the cat came along too & was a wonderful travel companion. Everyone loved him & he never ran away! Brekky - We want you to feel welcome, so are offering you a gratis brekky on your first morning. It is a healthy & yummy brekky with organic eggs from our own free range chooks, local sourdough, Pépé Saya cultured butter (made by an Aussie company from Aussie milk), full cream milk, a couple of preserves and fair trade plunger coffee. Kitchen - you have a well stocked kitchen with a microwave, a gas stove top (plus 1 electric element) and a gas grill. You can watch the sunset while you cook on the outside gas BBQ (this is preferred for fried foods/curries). An air fryer is available on request, as are any other kitchen items you may need, or a browse through my yummy cookbook collection. We get you started with organic tea bags, raw sugar and Moccona instant coffee. There is a tea pot available if you would like to bring your own loose leaf tea 😊 Dining - Banquette style dining with comfy seats. A foot stool kicks out to turn the chairs into a recliner…swing the Tele around and watch while you eat! TV - The tele swings to face the bed, and the dining area. A DVD player & a movie collection is available on request. Streaming is of course possible from the wifi - please provide your own Netflix/Prime/Stan account. Bedroom - All bedding is made from natural fibres - woollen underlay, cotton mattress topper & cotton mattress protector on top. Comfy pillows have protectors for better hygiene. Bedding is 100% cotton or linen. Wool or 100% cotton blankets (seasonal). Woollen or goose down doonas. There are bedside nooks for snuggling up with a cuppa & a good book, or brekky in bed! Bathroom - You have a loo, a porcelain sink and a separate shower. Towels are cotton or cotton/bamboo mix and OEKO Tek…. Liquid hand soap is made by me and I add in my yummy essential oils. There is a 3kg washing machine tucked away, amazingly! We provide natural KinKin washing liquid. If you have any large loads, let me know & you can use our machine, or for a fee I can wash, dry & fold your washing for you. Garden - feel free to wander about the garden. There are a couple of vege garden beds in action, grape vines, a few different varieties of passionfruit vines & some fruit trees. A new Medicinal Herb garden is being established with identifier markers if you wish to learn about some of these plants. I aim to eventually make tinctures and teas from these herbs. We are working on improving our soil using permaculture techniques, composting, microbial enhancement…and feeding the worms too of course! The chooks are a happy part of this revolving cycle. Power - 12V power and full electric power access at all times. 4x USB A ports at the dining table. Reverse cycle heating & cooling. A ceramic heater is available (with a remote for those cold mornings when you want to heat things up before getting out of bed!) Water - Free flowing town water ie no limited access. Heated by power or gas. Drinking water runs through a filter under the kitchen sink. I hope this helps you get a picture of our BnB stay. If there is anything more you would like to know, any questions are welcome 😊 Registration Details Exempt
