Located just a 4-minute drive (or 20 minute walk) from StFX University, this is an ideal base for visitors attending homecoming, graduation, or other campus events. We are also a 7 minute drive from St. Martha's Regional Hospital, offering convenience for healthcare professionals or patients' families. Easy Access: Single-level, step-free entry is perfect for guests with mobility considerations. Business Travel Ready: Dedicated workspace, reliable WiFi and self-check-in via smart lock. Romantic Getaway: Stylish and cozy, it is a perfect retreat for two! We welcome guests for medium and short-term stays. Family Friendly: The sofa is comfortable for sleeping; extra bedding is available upon request, and we can also provide an inflatable mattress. There is a very quiet family of long-term residents who live in the home above. In my experience of the space, I have only rarely been aware of faint sound coming from the upstairs unit. The family's bedrooms are on the second floor of their two-storey home. Explore the Area Local Essentials: Just 100m from a bakery/corner grocery store (famous for their cinnamon buns!) open 6:00am-10:00pm daily. It is an excellent place for basic supplies such as cream for your coffee or milk for your tea or a quick wrapped sandwich. Beach Days: Short drives to Mahoney's (16 min), Arisaig (21 min), and Pomquet (24 min). We provide beach towels! The Perfect Stopover: Located 38 minutes from Cape Breton. Many guests stay with us on their way to or from the Cabot Trail. We are located 1 hour 45 minutes from the Halifax international airport and 2 hours 7 minutes from the North Sydney Marine Atlantic Ferry Terminal to Newfoundland. Guest access Because the house is set in a hill and rock garden, its entry is step free. The threshold is 2 inches. There are no interior stairs. The private, free parking space is 24 feet wide with seasonal corner bistro set. The entry and bedroom doors are 32 inches wide. The bathroom door is 28 inches wide. There is a stool available for use in the shower. Other things to note Entertainment & Leisure: The Corner Suite enjoys Netflix, Disney+ and a premium cable package on its Roku TV. There is a bluetooth speaker. A picnic backpack and beach towels are provided for outdoor enjoyment. Games, books and puzzles are provided for indoor play. A portable air conditioner is provided for seasonal comfort. Kitchen & Supplies: Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, lotion, dish soap and all-purpose cleaner by Canada's "The Unscented Company" are provided. Canada's "Nellie's" scent-free laundry soap is provided along with a starter pack of other household supplies. We support the local Halifax-based coffee roaster "Java Blend" and the Montreal tea house "Camellia Sinensis". Home office materials are available in this business travel ready and laptop friendly unit.
