Description

Cozy home, centrally located. Just outside the village of Waterbury, Vermont, you are a mile from dining, shopping, and breweries. Fantastic mountain biking at Perry Hill is riding distance away, and it's a 15 minute drive to hiking trails. In the winter, you can get to Stowe, Sugarbush, Mad River Glen, or Bolton Valley within 30-40 minutes. You can visit Montpelier or Burlington with a quick hop onto the highway. This location is perfect for exploring all the delights of Central Vermont. The space The single story house has an open floor plan. You can hang out at the built-in bar while someone cooks you dinner (if you are lucky), with flow through to the dining room. The kitchen has everything you need to eat-in, including handmade pottery made by your host. If you find a mug you love, there is even a way to purchase it to bring home with you. There is a step down into the sunlight filled living room with a cozy couch and seating area. A TV resides behind a piece of art so it isn't the central focus. Two of three bedrooms are available. Bedroom One has a king sized bed with plenty of floor space. Bedroom Two has a queen sized bed and gets great light. Closets and dressers are available for storage, and both rooms have light blocking curtains. A queen sized pullout couch is a third sleeping option, and a foam topper and bedding is available to make this comfortable. The full bathroom is small but clean. A small driveway is perfect for one car, and can fit second behind the first. The small lot feels very private as it faces the wood hillside, but is in a family-friendly residential neighborhood. A fenced in yard makes it ideal for dogs (there is one who lives here when we aren't travelling). A perennial garden is to either side of the walkway that leads to the patio. Festive lighting comes on automatically once its dark out, and the patio is a great place to BBQ and enjoy the outside. Raised vegetable beds are in the back of the house, and what ever is ripe is available to you. If you are there in the winter, you may need to coordinate with the property manager for snow removal. Guest access Guests will have the entire house, with the exception of the third bedroom and basement. There is a laundromat in town, about a mile down the road if you need it. The open part of the woodshed is available and covered if you need place to put bikes or skiis. Other things to note This is my primary residence, so keep that in mind. After a couple of years of letting family and friends use my house while I'm away, I'm trying this option. I'll be off on my own adventures while you are my guest. Living the dream!
