Description
This memorable place is anything but ordinary. A family home, a place where you come to unwind, to get away from the noise. The sunrises are always a thing of beauty, something worthy. The clear skies and starry nights, spent around the fire are calming. If you are looking to JUST BE or a different work environment, our farmhouse gives you more than that. We say "Own It" because it is a home away from home. Come and have a spiritually lifting stay at Pholoshi Farmhouse. You deserve it! The space The property is an actual working farm, we are goat farmers (start-up). We have goats, pigs, chickens, geese, ducks and rabbits. Unfortunately for biosecurity reasons, we discourage guests from interacting with the livestock or going to the livestock holding area. The animals roam freely on the farm though. We also have wild life in the form of Zebras and Blesbokke. The property is divided into 2, the upper part- where the main house is and the lower part - where the cottage is. These are all on the same property and just meters apart. We have tried to keep the house as homely, natural, lived-in and simple as possible. So you feel like you are visiting family not going to a resort....After all it is a farmhouse. Please note that the property is not an events venue. Guest access Guests have access to the main house, the cottage, the mountain and are free to walk around the property. We have a mountain on the property, guests are free to hike up under the tutelage of our farm manager of course. These need to be arranged with him the day before. They take place between 7 am to 9 am. It’s a +1km hike, takes an hours or so. Steep and rocky. Other things to note To get to the farm from Koster Road, there is a 30 minutes drive at between 20 - 40km/h on a gravel road. The road has sand and shale rocks. It becomes dusty when dry, muddy and slippery when wet. During the rainy season, there are always puddles. People are always tempted to stay away from puddles and getting into the water for fear of their cars getting stuck, and opt to go to the sides where the mud is. DO NOT go to the sides, the mud will trap you and you will get stuck. GO INTO THE WATER, drive through the puddle of water, they are not deep and there is no mud under the water to hold your tyres. Whatever car you drive, you will get through the water. Do not speed through the water. DO NOT GO TO THE SIDES. You are advised to engage your navigator early on your trip to get to the farm, so that the trip information is uploaded and stored on your navigator. The network signal gets low and lost as you drive on the gravel, and as you get closer to the farm. Your navigator would have retained the directions and should still direct you even when there is no signal. If you don't intend to go out, we advise that you purchase every thing that you believe you will need in town, before coming the farm. If you intend on going out, please google activities in Magaliesburg and you should have a selection of things you can do in and around Magaliesburg. We also have pamphlets in the house of some recommended places. We have a house guardian, you may be lucky to get a short and whirling visit from him during your stay. Our in-house Batman. We also have visits from our friends from the mountain. So you might, on occasion, hear a thump on the roof, it’s the monkeys raiding the mulberry tree on the property. Otherwise, just sit back and enjoy the peace and quite (except when the goats are hungry) of our farmhouse. Pholoshi Farmhouse - Own It!
