The Haven is a seventeenth-century cottage in the north east of the Lake District close to Ullswater. It has one double and one twin bedroom upstairs, above a sitting/dining room, with a small well-equipped kitchen alongside, and a modern bathroom. Askham is a small and quiet place, described by A Wainwright as the prettiest village in Westmoreland. It is not far off the M6 motorway, and just five miles from Penrith railway station, well served by the West Coast main line. The space This is a cosy two bedroom stone-built cottage. Features include: - low ceilings and doors (so be careful if you are tall) - a living room with the possbility of an open fire - heating by storage heaters mainly at night - kitchen and bathroom alongside in a small wing to the right of the main house. Note that there is no bathroom upstairs with the bedrooms. - two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two twin beds - washing machine is in the garage - well-equipped small kitchen - small front garden (the back garden belongs to the house next door) - entrance through the side door into the kitchen Guest access All parts of the space are available. This is a family weekend retreat and is let out for the times when the family members are not using it. Entry is through the door on the right of the main part of the house not through the front door.
