The perfect family friendly retreat. Recently restored this pretty Georgian detached wharf cottage set within an acre of idyllic gardens abutting the beautiful Kennet and Avon canal. The cottage offers a chance for peace and tranquility or a fantastic base for a Wiltshire adventure. This period cottage includes two spacious double aspect living rooms, a separate dining room, fully equipped kitchen and utility room. King sized double, twin and single bedrooms and a beautiful bathroom. The space Located in the village of Semington and with direct secure access to the canal. The garden has been beautifully transformed into a real haven with a huge lawn to keep the whole family entertained. The Bath stone barn has been converted into a games room with a full sized table football and lots of outdoor games. There are a number of sun traps and a gazebo bbq terrace where you can relax with a morning coffee, alfresco dining and evening drinks to watch the sun go down across the stunning canal. Guest access Guests have access to everything Wharf Cottage offers. Exclusive access to the house, garden, bbq, games, ample off road parking for multiple cars. Pets are welcome to come and enjoy the fun. Other things to note Discover a wealth of attractions in every direction. The canal towpath running by the cottage provides a natural link to multiple places of interest. The village of Seend with its canal side pub, ‘The Barge’ is a short bike ride or a leisurely walk along the canal. Further along the cancel to the west is Devizes with its world famous Caen locks, they really do make water travel up hill! If you travel east along the canal, beautiful Bradford on Avon is a leisurely half hour bike ride away with plenty of pubs, restaurants and individual shops to explore, with Wharf cottage offering a homely setting to return to each evening. The Kennet and Avon Canal winds its way from Wharf Cottage to the City of Bath and you can chose to use the canal or else drive to this renowned UNESCO World Heritage site. From the Roman Baths to its distinctive Georgian architecture Bath has something for everyone. Theatres, Cinemas and Galleries and a wide array of shops, cafes and bars. Just 18 miles from the Cottage is the incredible prehistoric site of Stonehenge and a little further on the City of Salisbury with its iconic cathedral and wide array of independent shops clustered around the market squares. Wharf Cottage is a great base from which to explore everything that this part of the West Country has to offer and with space to stretch your legs kick back and relax the Wharf is also ideal if you just want to chill out and enjoy wharf life.
