Description

Cozy and spacious period home with character features yet offering comforts of modern life. This is an end-of-terrace cottage originally built in 1874 to house families of railway engineers working on a new junction of Dicot Parkway, which connected West and Midlands with London. It is located on a dead-end street in Northbourne Conservation Area of Didcot. The space The sitting room and dining area is open plan with two sofa beds (only one can be opened up at a time), console table, 32" Phillips TV (with Amazon Fire Stick and Prime Video included), Sony Blu-Ray player and iBlockCube universal fast charger (6 USB charging ports and 3 universal outlets) which is convenient if you forgot to bring an adaptor for UK. In the dining area there is a bookshelf with games, books about UK, small selection of DVDs, round glass dining table with perspex chairs, butler's trolley (placemats and cup savers inside). From dining area there is a step down leading to the galley kitchen fitted with shaker-style units, which is fully equipped with Bosch oven and gas hob, Russell Hobbs microwave, full size Zanussi fridge/freezer, Bosch dish washer, Bosch washing machine and Zanussi tumble dryer. We provide a starter pack of dishwasher tablets and some washing powder with conditioner. In the cupboards you will find a big range of toddler cutlery, plenty of cups, glasses, and plates, there is a cafe press for your morning cuppa. Because the water in the area is on a hard side, you will find Brita Jug in the fridge (we fit the first filter). There is electric sterilising station for baby milk bottles as well. There is a blender and a mixer, Tupperware and we provide cling film and foil as well. From kitchen there is a door to a playroom which is bursting at the rims with toys and books to keep your little one's entertained during their stay (from soft baby rattles and cardboard books to play kitchen and outdoor toys). From there the patio doors lead to a recently landscaped garden (2017) which has picnic table with parasol which can easily sit up to 6 people (available April-October) and a small cast iron table set for two. The garden has two parts - the sunny lawn is perfect for outdoor games (badminton, ball, etc.) and the second part is under the shade of our gigantic eucalyptus tree and has a bench if you want to relax in the shade. For the little ones there is a small Tiny Tikes slide and a sand pit with toys (for hygiene reasons we ask that you buy your own sand from either Argos shop in town or via Amazon and remember to close the pit for the night). On the first floor there is a main bedroom with a king size bed, bedside tables, chest of drawers, wardrobe and enough space for a travel cot. The 2nd bedroom has a double bed, bedside drawers, wall shelves, changing table and a space for travel cot. The main bathroom was fully refurbished in 2018 and boasts a deep bath with an overhead electric shower, spacious sink for a whole family and inbuilt shelves. We supply all bedding and towels and even a hairdryer. Going further up (very steep steps) you will find a converted attic area which can accommodated two children. The room has a Star Wars theme running through it, there are two single beds and a book shelf. For hard surfaces we use Bacoban - same product used by aero industry - which gives you protection against SARS viruses for 10 days. For hygiene reasons and to minimise infection risks we are no longer providing spices and oil for our guests, and we stopped providing tea/coffee/sugar.
