Heather Cottage, Tintagel

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful cottage on the North Cornish coast. Situated between the pretty villages of Tintagel and Boscastle there are a wealth of beautiful beaches, hidden coves and waterfalls as well as restaurants, pubs and shops nearby. We offer 2 bedrooms (one double, two single beds & a travel cot), parking and the cottage is close to the coastal path as well as local amenities. Please note that this is a pet-free property. The space Heather Cottage is a cosy barn conversion located within a courtyard of 5 properties. Approximately 100 years old but modernised in 2022, the property comprises two bedrooms (a double and a twin), a shower room with toilet and an open-plan living area with kitchen, seating area (sofa and armchair) and a dining table to seat 4. There is a single, unmarked parking space within the courtyard (i.e. you can park one car in any space in the courtyard, but please be considerate of other residents.) Extra parking is available within the St Nectan's Glen pay & display car park across the road. The property is located in the hamlet of Trethevy, just a couple of miles from the pretty villages of Tintagel and Boscastle, on the walk to St Nectan's Glen and close to the historic St Piran's Church and St Piran's Well. The beaches of Bossiney Cove and Benoath Cove are just a mile along the road from the cottage or a 1/2 hour walk through the magical Rocky Valley and along the North Cornish Coastal path. The popular beach of Trebarwith Strand lies 7 minutes by car on the opposite side of Tintagel, popular with surfers and bodyboarders, and fantastic for exploring the rockpools and caves. There are a wealth of local pubs, restaurants and cafes serving delicious home-cooked food - why not check out The Port William Inn (Trebarwith Strand), The Cobweb Inn (Boscastle), The Riverside (Boscastle), The Bossiney Tea Rooms (Bossiney) or the King Arthurs Arms (Tintagel)...to name but a few. From the cottage, the popular attraction of Tintagel Castle is just a short drive (or slightly longer walk), as is the NT Old Post Office, Boscastle Harbour and the Museum of Witchcraft! Slightly further along the coast, why not pay a visit to the famous village of Port Isaac (filming location for Doc Martin, Saving Grace, Wycliffe, Poldark & Fisherman's Friends), Padstow Harbour or NT Lanhydrock House. Heather Cottage is a relaxing base from which to see all that the North Coast has to offer...we hope you enjoy your stay! Guest access Guests can use the whole property and make use of the single parking space within St Piran's Court. We would ask that our guests be considerate of other residents when parking. Please note that the property is reached via a short, unsurfaced lane which can be bumpy and uneven. It is not suitable for low suspension vehicles such as sports cars. We recommend that guests with low suspension vehicles use the pay and display car park on the main road. If you require extra parking, it is also possible to park in Tintagel Visitor Centre Car Park and catch the number 95 bus to Trethevy, where it stops directly opposite St Pirans Church. Other things to note Please note that this is strictly a pet-free property. We are also a no smoking property. There is no garden at Heather Cottage, but a bench in the courtyard is available should you wish to sit outside. We do not allow BBQs at the property but can provide details of a suitable picnic spot close by. We politely request that August bookings are from Saturday to Saturday. Please note that we do not provide bedding for the travel cot. Please bring whatever you need for your child in this respect.
