Description

Salters Green Oast House is reputed be the smallest oast in Sussex where hops used to be dried for the farmer's ale. Situated down a narrow lane off the A267on a quiet and secluded 64 acre cattle farm, which you are free to explore (though the cattle currently winter nearby), it is 15 minutes from Tunbridge Wells and about 30 mins drive from Eastbourne and the wider coast. Historic villages of Rotherfield and Mayfield are 5 mins away by car with pubs, cafes and shops. The space The Oast has everything you need for a peaceful and comfortable stay in the glorious Sussex countryside. The fully fitted and equipped kitchen means you can cook at home if you prefer, or maybe try one of the local pubs and restaurants that are within a 10 minute drive in the villages of Rotherfield and Mayfield. There is a washing machine (no drier), oven, hob, microwave, toaster and kettle available as well as cooking equipment. The kitchen table seats 6 comfortably and there is a high chair too. The spacious living area is the perfect pace to relax with TV and sofas (one of which is a sofa bed). The spacious main bathroom is situated on the ground floor and has a full sized bath with over-bath shower. The beds are high quality and extremely comfortable, guaranteeing a restful night. The main bedroom has a king sized bed, with plenty of space and storage. A travel cot is also available on request. The second bedroom is cosy and sleeps two on equally comfortable single beds. The upstairs WC conveniently concludes the upstairs space. The Oast has it's own garden and orchard, with a patio complete with BBQ and garden furniture, as well as a washing line for drying clothes. This is all for the exclusive use of our guests who can enjoy wider views of the farm. Parking is available right in front of the property. We request no more than two cars, unless by prior agreement. Guests are welcome to explore the farmland, we just ask that you check with the owner first as often there are cattle grazing. Children are very welcome, but please be aware that it is a working farm and so they need to be looked after for their own safety. Unfortunately we can't accept any animals. Guest access The Oast House and oast garden is for the sole use of our guests. Other things to note Please note that when the guest bed in the small bedroom is turned into two single beds there is only a narrow space between them .
