Studio 9, in the picturesque and historic town of Evandale, northern Tasmania is a three minute walk from the village town centre, where you can enjoy the convenience of two hotels, Evandale Cafe, Evandale Bakery Cafe, ‘The Store’, antique shops, Evandale Historic Walk and the reputable Sunday Market. Home to the Evandale Historic Water Tower, the John Glover Prize and Penny Farthing Championships. Evandale is 5 km from the Launceston Airport and 20 minutes from Launceston. The space + THE SPACE Separate to the main house, Studio 9 was converted to a cosy modern single room OPEN PLAN guesthouse in 2017. Originally a Painter & Decorator’s workshop which was built along with the Georgian style house in 1994. Although close to the main house, Studio 9 is a quiet and private space. The Studio has a comfortable QUEEN size bed and a SINGLE bed for a third guest. There is a compact and well appointed ensuite with vanity drawers, heat lamps and fan. Grab a book from the library and retreat from the world. The well appointed kitchenette has a large pull out pantry, microwave, kettle, toaster, turbo cooker, small electric skillet, and portable hot plate. Please use the portable hotplate on top of the wooden cutting board to protect the benches. **It's worth noting that the layout of the Guesthouse is one large OPEN PLAN ROOM with no connecting doors between the bedroom, the kitchenette and living area. The bathroom is an enclosed private room with a door. While the Studio may not be suitable for everyone, it's a unique aspect of the accommodation that adds to its charm and is a wonderful place to stay for those looking for a peaceful retreat in a historic Georgian township. ** We have a Rag Doll cat called Jed. He is a very relaxed character, but may be timid around strangers. ** Wifi available - Remote workers welcome + GUEST STUDIO Your private Studio in Evandale is conveniently located just two streets away from the village high street where you’ll find local hotels, cafes, ‘The Store’ retail and gift shop, a small general grocery store and post office. Morven Park is across the road from your guesthouse where you’ll find children’s MINI Steam Train rides on a Sunday, the local Evandale Football Club, cricket batting nets, exercise equipment, and a skate ramp. There are 2 tennis courts on the opposite side of the park next to the Visitor’s Centre. Walk through the park to the Historic Graveyard, or a take a short cut to the town centre. Only a 15 - 20 min drive from Launceston, you can enjoy the quaintness of a country village whilst having the convenience of a regional city at your fingertips. 9 minutes drive from Clarendon House National Trust Estate, take two to three hours to wander around the property established in 1838. You’re also close to Ben Lomond National Park where you can hire skiing equipment and enjoy the winter snow. Our property backs onto Summer’s Farm where you can see the Belted Galloway cows or black faced sheep grazing over the fence. There’s a peaceful view of the paddocks, and at night the airport and city lights can be seen in the distance. A hop, skip and jump from the South Esk river - You can go for a walk along the bank, there is a visitors rest area. Walk the Evandale Heritage trail to view the historic Georgian houses. Visit the popular Evandale Market on a Sunday morning to grab a coffee or get some fresh local produce. Refer to the Listing Guide or ask for host recommendations. ** Telstra Mobile customers can expect full reception, occasional drop outs for OPTUS or Vodaphone customers can sometimes occur in certain areas of the Village main street. **Please come into the driveway slowly as we have an old cat and some fast moving young people. We live on the property so you will see us from time to time. You will occasionally hear our movements or distant voices. *** No smoking, e-cigarettes or vaping inside the Studio or on the property.
