Welcome to Mountain Lake Cottage located in a peaceful, family oriented community on White Oak Mountain. Relax on the porch overlooking the lake, a perfect spot for morning coffee or evening wine; gather around the fire pit on chilly nights for storytelling; take a walk through the woods where you'll find a canoe to paddle around the lake. Kids of all ages will enjoy the game room which is outfitted with a smart TV, ping pong table, corn hole, and board games. The space ***This is a mountain property, and the drive can be intimidating to some. The primary route that GPS provides is steep, with sharp curves and the road comes close to the edge of the mountain in some places. It's those places that provide amazing views, and it's this route that crosses the bottom of Shunkawauken Falls. It is a public road and hundreds of cars, delivery trucks, work trucks travel the road every day without issue. However, if you're not used to mountain roads, there is an alternate route that is just a little longer but less steep and only comes close the edge of the mountain in one location. Paddling on the pond is so relaxing, but please remember that the Property Owners Association prohibits all swimming and fishing is limited to property owners only. Other things to note We provide a starter supply of soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc., but let us know if you forgot to bring your comb, toothbrush, deodorant, razor, shaving cream, Q-tips, bandaides, etc. We can bring you a basic essentials kit to save you a trip into town.
