The Hoot

The Hoot is a unique somewhat alternative self contained space that links indoor and outdoor living. Inspired by nature, art and up cycling we have created a ‘maximalist wabi sabi’ lodge. Set privately within our woodland a short up hill walk from the parking area nestled amongst the trees with views over the countryside and quantock hills. The space A short walk up into the woods you will find ‘The Hoot’ nestled amongst the trees. You can relax and relish a close connection with nature and enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces. From the large decking area at the front you can scan the beautiful countryside views and sunsets. A wooden walkway leads you round to the rear of the lodge where you can relax in an outside bath, enjoy outdoor seating areas and a VW beetle BBQ ! You can also climb inside the beetle and listen to music and read. Hammocks are available to hang between the trees and there is a fire pit area. The Hoot has exclusive use of the top part of our woodland ‘ark’ garden ( with a close connection to st Michael’s leyline) grass areas, pathways seating areas and yoga/ meditation spaces. Inside is an eccentric mix of nostalgia, humour, surrealism, and creativity. Offering rustic comfortable living for guests searching for a unique place to stay. There are collections of things to look at, touch and experience or you can just sit back and enjoy the moment doing nothing. The kitchen has an Aga with gas hob and electric ovens, microwave, fridge freezer, kettle, toaster. The kitchen island is on wheels and can be moved out onto the decking and used as a work top, table or desk area. A starter breakfast hamper is provided. A gas combi boiler provides instant hot water and heating to radiators morning and evening in cooler weather. The lodge is fully insulated and there is a log burner with kindling and logs provided. The sleeping area at the back can be sectioned off by curtains and there is a large king size high bed with storage trunks underneath. Door to a small and cosy bathroom with a toilet, sink and bath with shower attachment. We feel the woodland has a special peaceful energy that we would love to share with guests so they may benefit from its holistic healing qualities x we hope you enjoy your time here x Guest access Guests have private use of the entire lodge and surrounding area at the top of the garden - approximately half an acre. This area is surrounded by countryside. Other things to note Inside the lodge there are many items both decorative and useable. Please understand this is the quirky style of the space and may not be everyone’s personal taste. The Hoot is designed for only 2 guests. Please do not bring other guests to the property at anytime without prior permission from the host. Many thanks
