The Chapel at Litton Cheney
The Chapel at Litton Cheney
Description
Welcome to The Chapel. The Chapel is nestled in the heart of the picturesque Bride Valley where the space occupies a former traditional stone-built Methodist Chapel. Our recently converted boutique accommodation has been renovated to a high modern standard which sensitively retained its period features. Situated just a short drive from the National Trust beach, the Hive in Burton Bradstock, the landscape that surrounds The Chapel is truly idyllic. Come in, light the fire. @thechapelatlitton The space The Chapel provides conditions of perfect seclusion for guests. A truly characterful place, expect a mix of art and quality linens and furnishings, wooden floors and a beautiful heritage building. Inside: Everywhere, the palette is simple and appropriate to the essential character of the place – there are two beautiful bedrooms, one bathroom with a bath, long mirror, sky light, and downstairs is a connected kitchen and sitting area. The open design allows guests to enjoy the rituals of cooking, eating and relaxation. It is a natural location for a small gathering and stay. We welcome you to sleep over (lovely linen and bedding with towels all included) and enjoy the benefits of the private, front facing garden (with chairs, wildflowers and lawn) where you can listen to the calming sounds of the countryside while sipping your morning coffee. The kitchen is perfect for cooking supper and we have all the usual breakfast conveniences: toaster, kettle etc. The chapel does not have a freezer so save your ice cream for the beach. There are books and reading material a plenty, wifi for streaming movies on the digital services, all of which you can enjoy in front of a roaring fire - a guest highlight. The chapel has old bones so expect to light it in the winter months: Our village is a jewel in itself, with a much beloved local pub a few minutes walk away, litton lakes with coffee shop and delicious bites just down the road, stunning bride valley church and bride valley vineyard all at your fingertips - modbury farm shop a short drive away. Not forgetting a delightful walk across the fields which takes you to the childrens playground. This is West Dorset at its finest where after the brilliance of spring and summer, autumn and winter can be equally enjoyed through the wild and characterful landscape. We are in the valley so wellies are a must in winter and warmer woolies also, bring your slippers too, but summer time come bask in the sunshine! Come unwind in the country. Other things to note A single fold-out 'Loaf' floor futon is available for an additional child guest on request. The Chapel is not significantly child proofed so please take a little extra care - by the windows in the main bedroom there are spaces that leave an exposed drop - but there is a railing (see photos of upstairs chapel window gates). These wouldn't be suitable for unattended toddlers. Any additional guests/ friends invited to stay must be approved via message. The Chapel, garden and shared grounds are strictly no smoking.
